Absolutely, got a 5 day leave coming up in dec before Christmas, so looking forward to it. My wife suggested we go away and I flatly said no thanks. We are going away to see family over Christmas, I want some time to do NOTHING!

It’s strange that people don’t believe you when you say you just want to stay home and recharge batteries.
I’ve taken leave for this Friday and I’ll be on leave over Christmas period, so at least that’s something

Its pretty funny, I am not a fan of going away since it is just more work disguised as a holiday: carrying stuff, driving (which I hate), herding kids, sunshine (which I hate). Yes it is great for the family, which is why I actually do it but I mostly do not enjoy it on a selfish level.
Hence I insist on 5 days a year where I issue myself a No Driving and No doing housework certificate, forcing kids and wife to do the cooking etc.
