Give them time, the great “Game Launcher/Storefront war” has just begun and it’s going to get interesting.

For now it seems like the Epic Games Store is just trying to disrupt the Steam store’s business model. Which will ultimately be a good thing for developers.

The issue comes with market parity, currently we have :

  • Blizzard/Battle.net
  • Beamdog
  • Bethesda launcher
  • Discord
  • Epic Games Store
  • GOG
  • Green Man Gaming
  • Microsoft Store
  • Origin
  • Steam
  • uPlay

And more still to come…the more stores, and I’m looking at you Epic and Steam, push for exclusive or time-limited exclusivity, the worse it is for us as consumers. Maybe Steam’s model is more sustainable for them. Why can Epic do it so much cheaper? How long can they keep this up? What happens when streaming becomes a reality?

I am having a problem with Steam.

My brother have me his Logitech G430 Surround Headset. Steam is having major issues with surround; bugging out (sound glitches to a point where audio is entirely absent). Has anyone experienced this and is there a fix, potentially?

NAG forums are apparently closing down

Yea I heard of that as well

Is that in the Steam client itself? Like when you watch videos and stuff? Because game wise every game will do sound on its own and not make use of Steam.

We can maybe tell them to join us?

NAG was a magazine once upon a time wasn’t it?

Wait, NAG is still a thing? Thought they died along with the PS2’s and original XBox

I loved the NAG magazines!

And out of interest sake, my wife was a sub-editor for PC Format many years ago. So read a lot of PC Formats too.
