Eskomplicated. It’s officially 4.5 hours at a time in my suburb, and it feels kak. And that’s when they actually stick to the schedule - which has yet to happen.
We’re in the Wednesday Stage 4 block right now (although it only went off at 12:50, so heck knows if it’ll come back at 16:30, and if it does, if it’ll work - had an extra 3 hours on Monday after the 4.5 hours load shedding because the substation tripped ). Last night we were scheduled from 8PM, only went off at 10:20PM
They go back to a stage 2 at 11PM tonight so we’ll go off again at 4 tomorrow morning and wake up to a luke warm shower and no coffee. And then we’ll sit in the dark again tomorrow night from 8PM until early hours Friday morning.
Okay, so when I first heard about this on Monday I honestly thought it was some sort of silly marketing thing.
Turns out they’re genuine. Just seen that they attended the IEC Ballot Draw and took the IEC Code of Conduct Pledge just now (and ironically were seated next to the BLF). The Purple Cow logo will be on the national ballot form on May 8.
I fill my flask every evening when i go sleep and if there’s power in the morning every morning, if there’s no power i always just boil some water with the gas stove
What utter nonsense this Bill is. Nothing more than another attempt to milk citizens into continuing to pay to support the lifestyles of the rich and connected in sheltered government employment.
The “prescribed fee” for registration was R1200-R1500 back in 2016. Annually I think. And they’re going to police this bs themselves? This from the same organization that can’t even produce a straight scan of a document to PDF:
Agreed, this is absolute BS. In terms of online distributors like steam, GOG, Epic or Netflix etc. they’ll need to register and if they don’t they wont be able to distribute games here? Its so unnecessary.
Can you just imagine some FPB representative calling up Pornhub and telling them to register as a distributor and then demanding that they pay over R2000 for each video posted on the website
Well they will just ban pornhub (I’ve heard about it but never seen it*) And then you will see the unity the country so desperately needs. Every South African putting aside their differences for smut.
Uh… the majority of the issues is something money cant fix in case you were wistfully thinking that this money isnt going to be pissed away by Eskom and their buddies.
I want to see the jack-booted FPB militia breaking down Little Jannie Teenager’s bedroom door as he streams his Fortnite play while screaming obscenities he doesn’t really understand at some 40-year old neckbeard in Kazakhstan.
