Them’s fightin words…
Eeewh it’s an AMD
Who manages your DHCP scope?
A DHCP scope being…
DHCP is what dishes out and tracks what IP addresses are used. This can be a server or a network device like a router.
Ah ok. So in my case it’s a router then*
*Told you I was bad at this - but I can produce a wicked metal album
Gimme the make and model of your router and I should be able to get the manual off the interwebs and I’d be able to guide you through it
Cool it’s a D-link DSL G2562DG
SHAMELESS COPY AND PASTE
Step 1: Open a web browser and type the IP address of the DIR series router into the address bar (default is http://192.168.0.1).
Step 2: The default username is admin (all lower case) and the default password is blank (leave empty) unless one has been assign. Click on OK .
Step 3: Click on the Setup tab at the top and then click on Network Settings on the left-hand side.
Step 4: Scroll down to Add DHCP Reservation .
Step 5: Input a desired name and address. You may click on the Reserve link if available to the client you are reserving the IP address.
Cool , and once that’s done?
Then it’s done; The reservation effectively takes the IP address out of rotation so the MFD can use it without worrying about conflicts.
Sweet - I’ll give it a go - thanks man
I don’t have a Bethesda account but then again I have Morrowind already.
So you clearly aren’t this posts target audience then
Pish, minor detail.
Phew, what a shit and long day. Looks like we can look forward to a nice little corporate restructure, which may or may not mean I get a new line manager.
It failed it won’t let me log in with an account I just created
Getting the same error, tried resetting the password a few times, checked username etc. Something’s broken on that page.
Servers must be overwhelmed
