So in the land of pettiness and childishness aka my office… the people who left sent an e-mail yesterday afternoon saying they are coming today to fetch their clients files and they want a list of all the files we have etc. so the current boss has decided we will not let them in our office and we have to take all the files down to the security gate and leave them there for them to fetch and to top things off we will be locking our offices, making it look as though we are not here…

So Cape Town people: Where can I get well-priced laptops fairly urgently? Not rip-off retail prices like retail stores, but more in line with the pricing of EveTech? Wootware is a bit expensive compared to EveTech’s prices and I need to buy 4 laptops and 4 screens by Monday. Price-wise I’m looking at R15k-17k each and spec-wise I’m looking at i7 8th gen, 16GB RAM, 250GB SSD and preferably full-sized keyboard. Dedicated GPU is a bonus (most devs are gamers as well and they appreciate machines that can game on off-peak hours), as I see you get many with a GTX1050 4GB for that price range.

I’ll check with supplier first thing in the morning to see what they have in CPT and not what can be sent from JHB. I generally rather go for the V330 or Thinkpad e580. Just need to check on GPU, not a high priority for my clients but still I know you get the 1050 as an option.
What screens are looking for , although I would suggest looking at specials from etailers as they get good discount bargains. But I’ll check anyway.

My business partner just bought screens from Takealot… Dell 24 inchers for R1899. Price was too good to pass up. We’re still looking around for laptops. I’ll drop you a mail.

Yeah screens is difficult, etailers have VERY good specials on basic screens that we can’t touch. Our cost price comes in a lot higher than that 
Laptops, would you prefer 3 year warranty (onsite) or just the normal 1 year crap? It adds a little to the cost but is worth it in the end.
