So we had our life group at someone’s house last week and to our surprise when we arrived, our host was in bed not feeling well but insisted we carry on without him and make use of his house. Two days later he notifies the group that he has COVID.

So yeah, a week later I am not feeling well. Thick headed with headache, constantly swallowing gunk, sore throat, and feeling feverish.

Just over 10 000 new cases yesterday and something like a 25% positivity rate. I think we’re back into a new wave territory - The 5th Wave?

Hope it’s no more than a dose of flu though. Either way, take it easy, get better.

Luckily the high positivity is also a symptom of less testing in general. The new cases, however, is kak scary. Play it safe, people!

And now it’s the Mol family’s turn to have Covid. Started with my wife testing positive on Friday. It knocked her like a truck, especially the body aches. She isolated but I feared that it was probably too late and sure enough my daughter picked it up, headaches, nausea and sore throat and a very, very weepy little girl. Thankfully the medicine worked really well and she felt a lot better this afternoon. I on the other hand, not so much. Yesterday I was feeling great, energetically sweeping the house etc. Since this morning I’ve been feeling worse and worse and slept for half the day. Thankfully my wife is starting to get over the worst for her and can then help look after the kids.

Fun times!

Last night I started to feel bad with my throat feeling scratchy that I sound very hoarse, and this morning a lump in my throat with discouloured mucus.

Is this a breakthrough and a good thing or short mindedness?

sounds good to me, most people are wearing the masks on their chins and foreheads already anyway so might as well put an end to it, and if someone still wants to wear their mask, cool, power to them.

If you compare the size of the virus particle with the size of the holes in the material of a mask, the answer is clear: 99% of masks are useless. If you use a mask to keep your mucus to yourself, all a mask could be good for is lowering the viral load going into the environment around you but not to the extent people believe.

Lots of studies done on this.

I’m so game for going back to normal. I’d be happy if they say that people with flu-like symptoms should be wearing masks as a rule in general (covid or not), but I’m over all the masks. I think a lot of other countries have scrapped it already.
