Coronavirus - COVID-19

That’s such good news @Wyvern. Don’t stress about other stuff now, take it one thing at a time. Getting your mom to change her mind is a huge boost for you - take the win. Once she’s been jabbed, then you can move onto the next thing you want to sort out.

Right now though, take the win!

I want my jabs NOW! I SO wish I could just pay R400+ and get it done. This waiting and living in fear is bugging the shite out of me.

You are not the only one. I want to go for it now - I don’t understand why they wont let those of us who WANTS our jabs to go get them

@GregRedd : can you employ me as an unpaid TA so I can follow suit?
really happy that you got that sticker, man!

@Wyvern that’s great news! Follow uncle Greg’s advice here, take and celebrate the win!

@FarligOpptreden let us know if you come right, please? My head office is a two minute walk from Karl Bremer, so is love to be able to let my CPT colleagues know of the opportunity, if it pans out!

The vacc centers here in the middle of nowhere are empty, seen photos of it. Pisses me off. People I know who are teachers are refusing the jab and here I sit impotently raging.

I really hope the DoH gets its shit sorted out and the tempo of vaccinations picks up speed. This third wave is spiking ridiculously quickly, especially here in Gauteng. The fact that there’s vaccination centres sitting empty, and doses assigned to eligible people who don’t want them is maddingly frustrating. Like you and others here, I know of many people who will gladly take those doses right now.

Im curious how long between the registration and the sms?

Just came to say that… This tweet was made on the official Gauteng Gov account:

As reported on the Business Tech site:

The tweet has since been deleted from their feed, but hopefully it’s just a case of them - Gauteng I mean - not wanting to steal the thunder from Cereal and the National Government. Let’s hope we get some sort of official confirmation soon!

So my neighbours have been in isolation for a week so far because of contact with a positive person.

I was walking past their driveway when I heard her calling. “Can I give you some oranges?”

“I’m not sick or anything…”

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but the rapid tests give false positives less than 1% of the time. In others words if you test positive with the rapid test you’re 99% likely to be positive.

Lol she’s in that 1% apparently, it came back negative

I get to find out in the next 30 minutes or so if I was put on the list. Supposedly “support staff” at schools are also on the list for vaccination, but not sure I count. Since i’m not a cleaner or groundstaff, but I am basically a “product” my company sells the school, onsite support…so they going to the vaccination place this morning and if i’m on the list they’ll let me know and I can go get my jab :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s not the first time I regret having the soul of a 55 year old, but the young(-ish), lean(-ish) body of a 35 year old.
Harumph.

Sorry, I’m a bit late.

I hope your dad’s okay. How are things going there?

On my side it feels like this wave is really catching a lot of people I know. My one boss’s husband passed away from COVID earlier in the week after a couple of days in ICU. I feel so bad for her.

I know so many people who has COVID currently.

Stay safe out there people.
