So about 0.25 percent of the populace. I’d say that’s pretty good odds as far as metrics go.

What the actual F#? we went from ~300 the day before to >18,000 the next.

Is that correct? It doesn’t sound right but too lazy to check.

It’s a rather heavy-handed bulk data correction. The DoH retroactively added in the bulk of the positive results from rapid antigen testing that weren’t being properly added into the Daily New Cases numbers.

Mere days after my parents book their flights to come visit :expressionless:

Between this and the maple syrup shortage, I fear for my family back home.

So, I have a question
Is the increase in numbers really a true increase or is it just that they are using even more data. So that in retrospect our numbers have been all over the show. I was expecting our wave 4 to start 2 weeks after we voted so 3 weeks isn’t bad
Cos that would be a super spreader event

FINALLY getting around to my second jab. Been delaying for months now. Just haven’t had time to go for it. Luckily the queue is quite short.

I am glad that the government didn’t go crazy with lock down restrictions. I think this is the right approach, and glad that the nations who’ve gone shutdown crazy have been called out for doing so. I see that flights to the UK are resuming this week.

I missed it as I was at a church meeting, what was the presidential address (family meeting) outcome this time?

Restrictions are remaining at level one. There was an emphasis on the need for more people to get vaccinated, hints that policies may be incoming making vaccination mandatory for people to be able to use public spaces/transport/etc. So they won’t force everyone to get the vaccine but choosing to not get vaccinated will result in certain restrictions. That’s probably the biggest news out of the announcement.

We have to wear masks. Its fucked up this thing. Masks give me a cough they are so harmful to you especially when you have to wear it for 8 hours a day, My lungs are messed up.

Saw this poll now on BT. I think it is quite concerning that so many people have this irrational mentality. I would think “More research and evidence on its effects” would at least be second. Surely people should be flexible enough to change their minds when new evidence comes to light. It reminds me of religious debates I used to watch.

Okay so can someone enlighten me the purpose of that planned mandate?
Will it stop the spread?
Will it really be a benefit to the country if you can still contract and spread and still die even though you vaccinated?
Just a few questions I’ve had for sometime but never really got the answers I was hoping to hear.

The answers you’re hoping to hear don’t exist bud. Vaccines, masks and hand hygiene work. Yes, there’s exceptions in every situation. Yes, the vaccinated can still get sick. Yes, the virus still spreads despite lockdowns and mandatory mask wearing. But if you honestly believe that having the majority of a population unvaccinated will result in a better outcome for the good of society than the situation that will occur if more people are vaccinated, I don’t know what to tell you. You’ve been sold a lie, and you’re naive to believe it.

There is a 95% chance that by being vaccinated I will avoid having to be hospitalized should I contract the disease, and a 98.5% chance that I will not die if I do contract the disease. The price I have to pay to hit those odds is getting a free injection that billions of other humans (not horses!) have received without issue. I’m taking those odds. Every time.

The vacuous, disingenuous, strawman talking points of the antivax cult are entirely irrelevant. Real science beats Facebook science every time.

No one wants mandates. No one. It’s going to be a damn pain in the arse to police and enforce. It’s going to destroy the jobs, freedom of movement, and opportunities for the ignorant, thick-headed, blinkered neophytes who insist on “doing their own research”, “questioning the science”, “not being a sheep” and who would rather rely on horse dewormer than millions of hours of scientific research and billions of living examples of vaccine efficacy.

The funniest thing is they all bleat the exact same bullshit as each other. The exact same. Just like sheep.

Get vaxxed. Get everyone in your family vaxxed. Get your friends vaxxed. Stop the kak. Stop the stupid online debates and bullshit. The sooner we get on with it the sooner we can get back to enjoying our lives again. The sooner we can get back to normality.

Seriously. Get vaxxed.
