Coronavirus - COVID-19

Bit of a thread necro, please let me know if inappropriate.

I remember getting pretty shunned on here for being skeptical of stuff (despite actually GETTING the vaccine, just being very wary about certain details, and for sharing that I live with someone who refused to get it for personal reasons).

Hopefully people have finally decided to be less stubborn and filled with zealous anecdotisms, so good luck with that

They knew all of that, but instead of warning us, the unvaccinated chose to remain silent. They chose to look the other way and not speak out about the potential dangers of vaccines. They let millions of good folks who did the right thing (at the time) fall to death and disease, and many antivaxxers even gloated online about how their coin flip had been the right bet. The more diabolical even urged folks they disagree with to ā€œget boosted.ā€

I honestly donā€™t agree with the opinion piece. The ā€œunvaccinatedā€ were very vocal about the supposed side-effects and (in)efficacy of the vaccines. At the height of it all, you couldnā€™t even have a normal social conversation without a vaccine fight breaking out.

Yeah, I completely agree with you there.

Are people starting to drop dead from the vaccine? Are the blood clots becoming commonplace? Are people vanishing into thin air?

Is this a satire site like the Onion or something?

Yeah I wondered the same but it seems as serious as they come. Absolute drivel.

It seems to be too out there to be serious. Anti-vaxxers were plenty vocal although I suppose a distinction can reasonably be (and should be) made between unvaccinated and anti-vaxxers. It is hard to take anti-vaxxers and conspiracy theorists seriously, but stillā€¦ to blame people for not being vocal enough seems silly, especially given that you couldnā€™t really have a different opinion on the vaccines that would be taken seriously in the midst of it all, whether that opinion would be reasonable or not. Even the media was heavily censoring information (some of which, turned out to be true).

Kinda, yeah. But it seems to be specific to the J&J vaccine and the symptoms start randomly after about a year after taking it. At least, all the cases Iā€™ve heard about was with J&J so Iā€™m not sure about the others. My sisterā€™s hairdresser for one survived, but she had to get therapy to learn to walk and talk again. I canā€™t remember what it is called but I think it is the immune system that starts attacking itself or something. It usually starts with needles and pins in the feet and then it spreads from there. My sister was freaked out because people around her started ā€œdropping like fliesā€ and she knew I took the J&Jā€¦ but this was a couple of months ago already.

An objective review of Covid, vaccines, safety, lockdowns and long covid based on the data, now that reasonable and objective thinking is allowed again.
