EA Sports WRC

FYI: Easy Anti-Cheat broke this game on Steam deck and linux. Not that this affects any of you :man_shrugging:

The more you know

A bit off-topic, but does this game support cross-platform leaderboards like Dirt 2 did?

Yes, you can play against PC or Console players. You just can’t migrate your account from one to the other.

It affects me, because I care.

Seriously, the sooner this shit stops happening and I can ditch windows, the better.

PSA - Steam has the 2024 edition of the base game on deep sale until month end.

I’m not entirely sure what you get with WRC 24 because there’s also a separate WRC 24 Location & Cars Content Pack, which is the first of three Content Pack DLCs planned to be included in the WRC 24 Season Expansion Bundle. Both of which you can currently buy as DLC to add to the base game if you already own EA Sports WRC.

But, from what I can figure from the image below this R239 deal should include the base game and the complete 2024 Season Expansion Bundle with all three DLC Content Packs included, when they release.

I presume that if you already own the original base game on Steam and buy this discounted version, it will overwrite the existing game with this version, and you should be able to get the Expansion Bundle for a lot less than the R550 standalone price. Anyone who has the game willing to try that out?

It overwrites/updates the game to WRC 24 without buying anything.

I did buy it “again” to get the DLC. I wish the discount was a bit bigger (as an existing owner) but that’s how it is these days.

This game hasn’t really clicked with me. The different feel and inconsistent performance have been the biggest issues. They are continually patching it at least. An update yesterday added native Moza support.

I only just got the simrig back up and running. It’s feeling fresh and different than I remember. Moza FFB 3.0 needs less tinkering from default, to come alive, so to speak. Latvia feels great. So many corners, so little time :joy:
