F1 24 - EA Sports F1 Games

And then I reinstall the GHub thing, restart the game and wheel is good. Do a time trial at Zandvoort, get to within a second of @DieGrootHammer’s time* and beat my rival at the same time, game crashes again as the new lap time is uploaded, and when I restart the game the wheel is not being picked up again. So yeah, fuck it I’m, waiting for patches.

*Yeah I know it won’t last, I know he was probably just sight seeing at the time, leave me to enjoy this rare moment!

Aw, that sucks that you guys are having technical issues with the game. So far I’ve only done two races in the My Team and everything has luckily been running smoothly.

I keep having to up the AI difficulty. I’m up to 80 now and still finishing in the points which is very surprising when I consider how easily you guys beat me.

Also had a crash in time trials. Beat my time and then the framerate stuttered like crazy before the game crashed.

That’s the one… teases you for a while after you cross the line, makes you think it’s all good, then stutter, stutter, stutter, freeze, crash.

At least now you know that you’re not the only one affected.

Great result for new team Fast Forward at the opening race of 2020! After coming a bit short in qualifying, was 13th until the dying seconds when everyone seemed to put in their best time dropping me down to 18th, I managed to have a good race and gain 9 places, netting me driver of the day (admittedly after restarting once or twice )

As one can see this race was sponsored by Ferrari!

I really enjoyed the race weekend. I used the general pace over the practice sessions to adjust the AI level until I found myself in a realistic position for a lower tier team, AI at 86 seemed to be the sweetspot, hence the reason I qualied at 18th with the top guys pulling off 1m22s times. I also had a wing failure in quali so I couldn’t open it in the DRS zones, so the time I’d put down before that was what I had to stick with.

The racing was great though, I can see that I’m definitely improving especially when it comes to leaving the other driver enough space, had some side-by-side moments with no contact which is an awesome feeling when you pull it off. I did have Perez giving me a nudge causing damage to his own front wing, and Ricciardo nearly spun me with a dive but “somehow” I managed to recover it, so it’s kinda realistic

What really helped me gain those places was being able to pit under the safety car due to a smash up near the beginning of the race. Was sitting about 14th until the guys who hadn’t yet pitted went in to change tyres, after that I caught some guys on the starting straight outbraking them going into T1.

Here are the highlights. Including a near miss when Stroll’s engine gave out and I had to squeeze between him and Perez.

lol… almost thought you started from the pits there.

Any chance leaving in the in-game sound and toning the music down? I enjoy these kinds of videos though, keep it up.

Unfortunately with the highlights that F1 generates you have to pick a music track to go with it. Will see if there is a way of taking it out or adjusting the volume.

What AI level are you using @DarthMol?

A carefully calculated 86

Haha nice!

Actually I just read your original post and I see you actually mention it. Just quickly scanned through it earlier. I think I’m on 80 currently.

Are you both using a steering wheel?

Yep, we are both using steering wheels. You want to hear something incredible?

@Konck uses a keyboard!

That’s just mental. Binary input is so linear :stuck_out_tongue:

Ugh my game keeps crashing in Vietnam.

I ran the AI at level 80 in F1 2019, but currently running 76 in 2020. To me it feels like the AI is a little OP during qualifying, but right on par during the race. I remember a similar issue when 2019 launched. That was fixed with a patch later. On the other hand, I’ve always had better race pace than 1 lap pace.

I still can’t get over everyone’s reaction when you found out last night!

I had such a great race at Spielberg. The last 3 races all had rain, and France was particularly shit as I ended wway down the field with bad strategy calls.

So coming into Spielberg, I learned from my mistakes and knew that after the rain, go onto softs. Man that worked out beautifully and I ended up 9th, scoring my second points for the season!!

I play around with the AI from track to track. Places I am good at I have the AI up to 102, and tracks I am bad at I go as low down as 95. I found that there is about 0.5 difference in overall pace between 90 and 100. I also do practice programs at 90 because I don’t want to struggle as I’m fiddling with the setups. Then quali at 102, otherwise I end up way too high up the grid than I should, then drop to between 95 and 100 for the race depending on the track.

I also think that this F1 has been the best F1 game by far. I’ve already done 20 hours of the game, progressed halfway through the first season of My Team and done a few time trails. The handling is so much better than in 2019. The car feels weighted and you can feel the mechanical and aerodynamic grip in the car. When you add upgrades to the car, especially major upgrades, they do change the cars characteristic greatly. I’ve also had a blast in practice finding setups that work with the car. In 2019 I had one setup I used for all tracks. Now I change the setup for each track and the car responds in kind. I adore this game!

Glad you love it so much. I did Australia (just to be ready for whatever the race stewards throw at me next) and I struggle to really get into it. At this stage I far prefer my ACC for my driving fix. Just not enjoying 2020 as much as I thought I would.
