He cuts off the bits that shows that Iā€™ve been driving without any assists. Sneaky! :stuck_out_tongue:

Nicely done @Konck!

Uhmā€¦ that was keyboard onlyā€¦ controller is arriving today.

I decided to do a one shot time trial on all tracks with default setups so that I have something to compare to when using the controller. So its safe to say that those times are definitely not safeā€¦

:open_mouth: Okay.

Well, Iā€™ll be doing some extreme social distancing at the back of the grid if anyone needs me. :grinning:

How do you guys calculate or determine your AI difficulty, whatā€™s your determining factor or baseline for measurement?

With F1 2020 Iā€™m basing it on how good the car is. The car is currently something like 2nd worst so I know I shouldnā€™t finish on the podium. On the current difficulty itā€™s difficult for me to get into the points but a nice challenge to try and do so.

So I might not make tonightā€™s pre-season testing. My wife is working back her calls that she missed while on sick leave, so she took a surprise call tomorrow night, so Iā€™ll probably spend tonight with her. If she has prep work to do, I might join you guys for a race or two.

Edit: I just realised this is the wrong thread, but itā€™s here now, so Iā€™m leaving it!!

Glad to hear the Missus is on the mend. :+1::grinning:

Pretty much exactly what @Solitude answered. I prefer a challenge and want my car to realistically perform on the right level. I think mine is currently set at 85 (might be wrong) because my car should place between 12 and 18th on the grid. So when I push hard and do really well, I might end up in the points.

On a side note, I started a new career and will be doing 50% races rather than 25%. I want tyre strategies to have a bigger effect on race outcomes. It never used to matter so much but being in a bad car makes you want all the advantages you can get.

Iā€™m also giving 50% races a go, well rather my next race will be a 50% one, you can change the length per race weekend as long as you adjust it before the first practice session. The longer races in AC and ACC have whetted my appetite for longer F1 races.

Yeah agreed on both points. I donā€™t like winning when in a sub-par performing car. I canā€™t remember how well Toro Rosso was performing back in 2018, but that aside, I do also like a challenge. So I try to tweak the AI difficulty so that I am competitive in the midfield.

That being said, I found myself turning on the ABS again during a wet race because I just battle to brake without locking up under wet conditions, then if it goes dry I disable it again as it just allows you to really be too aggressive under braking without worrying too much.

I might also try a 50% race, as you say, more to have the effects of proper tire management and planning your stops ahead of the race. That being said, I often donā€™t make full use of all practice sessions and just opt for a one-time qualifying. Also, I donā€™t go for all the resources point challenges as I simply donā€™t have the time for it either. I am rather strict on myself during sessions too, I very seldom make use of any flashbacks and instead try to make use of my mistakes and try to recover (I have kids okay, donā€™t judge me for using a flashback :stuck_out_tongue: ).

I read this as ā€œIā€™m doing 50% races except for Monacoā€.

So I just did my first proper Time Trial run with the controllerā€¦

Iā€™ve decided to switch Anti-Lock brakes off, as well as switching Traction control from Full to Medium. I managed to beat my previous TT time by 2 tenths after just 15 minutes.

Good times are on itā€™s way!

Made a few changes to my game: bumped up the difficulty to a 78 and went from one-time aulifying and 25% race to a short qualifying and 50% race. This places so much more emphsis on tire strategy but the added race length increases the concentration required. Just finished an entire weekend (3 practices, qualifying and race) and I must say, as good as it feels as I had a good result, my hands are aching.

Since the last update I havenā€™t had any crashes in F1 2020 which is great.

Have been driving with no assists and I still have the occasional spin. Really want to get used to it.

And have you left the league yet?
