MEW Hardware Challenge: Put together the best R10k PC

One thing is for certain that we all can agree on:

If you have a budget of R10k, and you want a new PC, your options for the most balanced price versus performance will lead you to AMD Ryzen CPU’s and the GeForce 1050. If you get the Ryzen 3, you can get a 1050TI, and if you go with the Ryzen 5, you can only get the 1050. I think that is some top-notch consumer advice!

Indeed.

Unfortunate that the RAM prices are so high at the moment. You are basically paying double what you would have not even 2 years ago! If RAM was cheaper we could have put another few hundred somewhere else.

Here is my lil build

E= Evetech ; R = Rebeltech

ANTEC VP500P PSU - R549 (E)
MSI Z370-A Pro - R1999(E)
8gb 2400 MHz Ram - 1299 (E)
Raidmax Vortex V5 chassis - R364 (R )
GTX1050 2gb - R2125 (R )
i5 8400 - R2949 (R )
1Tb WD HDD - R699(R )
GRAND TOTAL = R9984

Nice, first build we see with an Intel CPU. That’s a great price for the RAM as well. Couldn’t find 8GB that cheap on my first go.

Ja evetech has some nice specials sometimes, however you have to pit the price up against what will happen if it breaks…cause their customer service is apparently terrible( i cant say it is as i have never had to return anything to them)

The other problem is that this is only hardware, if its a new pc you are going to have to fork out cash for windows as well unless you run Linux or steamos.

You can get cheap windows keys of of various key re-sellers don’t know how legit they are but saw a Youtube video a while ago about it.

Yes indeed. But the challenge was only for the hardware within the budget.

You can buy Windows 10 Pro licenses on Carbonite for about R450, which isn’t all that bad and as far as I know it is legit.

Wow, bloody good price for a prebuilt PC with those specs!

I’m of opinion this thread has just been won.

How…how is that even possible? Where can you find that PC brand new for that price?

he has taken a different angle buy using a 4th gen CPU (4770)

Gumtree

DISQUALIFIED!!!

Lol but that is a great PC for under R10k. Next time I’ll be more clear that it should be only new parts.

HAHAHAHA! my bad, I only read the OP

all that work for nothing…
