I was very pleasantly surprised by the first two movies. Went into them kinda blind, but they were very good imho.
Iâve never been hugely into Dune, never read the books, played the games or watched the original movies. Though I knew about the movies, David Lynch was a very unique character, some his work, like Twin Peaks is part of my all time best TV shows ever.
Looking forward to the 3rd movie.

Yet to watch the second movie though I found the first to be slow I also found it to be faithful to the source material. As I consider DUNE to be one of my all time favourite reads.
Very much the same. I have read the first few of the original novels (way too long ago now, and probably due for a decent re-read actually) and as @Beo says, the films have been pretty faithful to the source. And they are very good cinematically too.

I love Dune, read ALL the books. Loved all the movies/series up to now, no matter how cheesy. The current Dune movies are the best so far, truly epic.
I am not a purist, not bothered if the interpretation is different to the books. I just love the universe in general.
I might even make the effort to go watch the third movie on a really big screen. It will probably be the last cinematic adaptation.

Wow, then you really need to watch Lock Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels! Amazing movie before anybody in the movie was famous. It is so well shot, and endlessly quotable. Snatch is also good, but in a refined formula that is essentially Lock Stock 2.
