Well to be fair from their website most of their showrooms seem to be glorified parking lots anyway. Just with less fancy buildings.

Sure, but the advantage of a glorified parking lot or warehouse is little to no maintenance. Fix up cracked cement once a year, do a bit of paint and rust touch up every second year. An arena is a whole other ball game, and certainly not designed for anything WBC are doing right now.

Thing is it’s a model that works for them. We traded my wife’s car in and bought a vehicle from them at their Silver Lakes depot, about 700 cars displayed in that warehouse:

To have a larger sales location in Joburg would be a huge plus for them.

Disclaimer, not my picture.

We took two Porsches, an audi, several BMW’s and then reality hit home and we got a GWM

@Beo there are lanes between most sections so they don’t usually have to shuffle.

Also, just FYI they work like an auction house. The cars are sold foets toets but you do get a Dekra report on everything they found wrong with the car. The pricing then factors the grading in. So you can get a good deal, get some fixes done and still come out with a car cheaper than going via the dealerships.

Personally I don’t really buy cars from them, but their business model works well. They seem to be extremely successful.
Their cars are almost always cheaper, but there is also almost always something wrong with them. On the flipside, if you’ve got a car to sell, they’ll certainly take it as-is with faults and all whereas dealerships have a certain level of standard for cars that they take in and deduct big amounts for the smallest issues.

If your car is however spotless or almost without issues, you’ll get a much better deal from Weelee. We sold my wife’s A4 recently and due to the high demand for cars in the 2nd hand market, they offered us R10k above trade-in value where Webuycars offered us R5k below. (Trade-in value was R145k)
