A few things: I had 2 GPU’s, and Eskom’s se ma se :face_with_symbols_over_mouth: , so that 1000W PSU was killing the inverter, not to mention the 105W CPU, that wasn’t exactly running within the normal limits :joy: . Using a gaming VM kind of demands many peripherals on your desk, and if you want to listen to youtube on one the host linux, and play games with audio on the guest, then you need multiple sets of speakers and/or earphones. Work/play space was just always kak busy. And needlessly so, since I wasn’t working on the next propulsion system, that’s going to take us to Mars. Games run the same now as then. :man_shrugging: Was it worth it as a learning experience? Sure. Were there any problems? None really, it was more about simplifying my desk and daily driver. Would I do it again in the future? I don’t think my use-case fits. Someone else probably make much better use of that hardware setup.

I think they are a steal, for the upgrade in sound quality. I’m no audiophile though, but I do appreciate better than average speakers, and quite frankly, they’re better than every crappy office speakers, 2.1 logitech or even 7.1 surround creative speakers I own. That said, I only use them to game, watch youtube and listen to music that ranges from house to jazz.

I do have 3 Ducky’s so, there must be bias here. This one is the best. Red switches, excellent stabilisers, the One3 range seems to have nicer padding than the One2 range (no plasticky echo, that some haters seem to constantly bring up), a distinct lack of software, only firmware (which is great). I will say, if you get one, bare in mind, they release firmware updates, so if you have problems, chances are, they’re fixed but just not shipped at time of buying. I had a strange lag on my F key, that a firmware update fixed :man_shrugging: The other 2 keyboards didn’t do that. Heck, it didn’t even do that from the start, so I’m thinking, it was possibly something in a windows 10 update, and they way they handle this keyboard in particular.

Fedora. Felt like a change. It just does it’s thing, doesn’t bother me with problems, or issues to fix, that I introduced :joy: I mean, they seem to be skating to where the puck is going, unlike Ubuntu, who’s pulling a Zuma, Oh, everyone is going there? Nah, I’m gonna go here where the donkeys are. Also nothing wrong with Arch, but I’m not that invested in knowing the intimate details how my linux is configured from scratch. I got shit to do, like lookup load shedding schedules and check toilets for snakes.

Thanks for the wall’o’text answer, I appreciate it!

I’ve got a bit of hearing loss, but I count myself the same way - I love listening to music, love hearing it clearly, but typically I need to add a bit of volume to overcome my deafness. I’d prefer having something clearer than the R150 logi desktop tin cans I’m using right now.

Does it come with numpads? :stuck_out_tongue:

Ugh. I’m actively considering redoing my stable as a rock home server just to get away from Ubuntu. Its so much annoying effort, but it feels a bit inevitable. I’m not comfortable enough with Arch yet to try and manage that on a headless machine, so I’m leaning to Debian.
How did we get to where considering Debian over Ubuntu feels like removing bloatware from your phone? :frowning:

Hahahaha, bloody Ubuntu. Dude, Nixos for your server. Just do it. You’ll never look back. Completely scriptable, repeatable install. a bietjie steep of a learning curve, but hey, druk daai ding in 1st gear, you’ll be fine.

Forgot about Nixos as an option. I’ll play around with it - heard great things on the Self Hosted podcast, so it’s worth taking a look. Thanks for reminding me!

What’s the podcast? Would be interested in checking it out.

Also, I heard about HoloISO, apparently a gaming distro… Haven’t looked into it yet, but might check it out sometime.
