Tech Support Hotline

We’ve been streaming 90% memorial services and funerals at the Church these days. It’s a great way for those overseas to be part of the service. We use YouTube and have the video set to unlisted so that anyone with the link can join the live stream. What’s also nice is that the stream remains recorded on the YouTube channel so people can view it at a later stage. You’ll need to have verified the YouTube account that you will be using (it can take up to 24 hours after the application so do this ahead of time)

YouTube does have restrictions on streaming from a mobile device:

It’s understandable because without these restrictions YouTube would probably be flooded with inappropriate streams.

A laptop with a decent webcam is a good option. You’d need a program like OBS or Streamlabs to then capture the video and direct it to the YouTube ingest server. If you want you could setup droid cam on a phone or two and use those as cameras. Although someone would need to operate the stream then and have a bit of know how.

Hey all, perhaps someone here can shed some light on this issue for me.

My phone has been working perfectly fine up until a few days or weeks ago whereby trying to load MEW and it just… doesn’t.

See attached as an example of what happens, eventually, it just times out. I don’t know if this is a lookup issue, a problem resolving the name, router, or otherwise. Nothing has changed around our house or devices. Sometimes I will clear the cache and it will come right but most times it just gets stuck in this loop.

Not a clue why it’s happening, but have also had a few similar instances. Mine have been on both the phone and my desktop, and have always been quickly fixed by a simple page refresh though.

Overly cluttered MEW files in the browser cache maybe? It is one of my most frequently visited sites, and I very rarely clear my browser cache. Yes, I know I should…

This happens to me on mobile only.

This happens to me in WiFi only.

Correction, this happens on mobile or wifi, I couldn’t reply last night.

Change your DNS. 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8, or if you already have that in, then remove it, so it defaults to the ISP’s DNS.

Worth a shot, will let you know. Thanks.

Totally random question

in word, is there a way to save a specific colour in the colour wheel - so that I don;t have to type in the RGB code each time

Is this what you want?

Yes and no - Its just our company colour and I use it a lot in documents but some people don’t have proper templates. . . . So I have to go and edit text on weird places not just headings

Have a look at the custom parts gallery. I’ll add a photo tomorrow so just remind me.

You can load a bunch of text you normally need already formatted and coloured correctly, then just select the custom gallery and pop it in.

Ok so the thing i was looking for is call “Quick Parts” under the “Insert” menu heading in word.

Select your text so it is highlighted

With the highlighted text, select “Quick Parts” then “Save Selection”

Provide a name you understand for future access

Then whenever you need to use it, just click “Insert” and in the “Quick Parts” menu select your option

Nice time saver when you insert the same text a lot, or even small images etc

I seem to be having some internet or router issues. All my devices are reporting that I need to “sign into your network” despite my router actually having internet access, and I’m typing this while on my Macbook. Even my mobile shows an exclamation mark on the wifi, which then forces the use of mobile data.

I restarted my router and followed through with the “sign into my device” prompts. I do not see any issues on my end, is there anything I can do?

What router model? Not that I know what to do if you tell me, it might just help the smarter lot following me.

Good point, it’s a HUAWEI WiFi WS5200.

My technical assessment is that is stopped working because the weather balloon was shot down.

What do you directly upstream of the Huawei? A modem? Or does the Huawei also modem for you?

And is it fiber, DSL, LTE?

Fiber. Huawei connects to the ONT.
