Mouse is acting up. I’m done with this Razer trash software too. Looking at a G Pro Wireless. Anyone own one and have experience to share? Specifically how’s the battery life, and how the tracking is with low sensitivity?

So the sound card isn’t working too great. It worked fine when I installed it but as soon as I installed the driver, it started playing white noise through the speakers (like a mic is plugged in). Pretty much when the computer boots up, right after the bios loading screen, it starts. Only way to get rid of it is to disable or uninstall the device. Can’t find any Microphones under device manager to disable. Will try contacting Creative support via Live Chat on Monday, otherwise I’ll return it.
Edit: FFS. After tinkering with this for a while now and not coming right, I just stumbled upon the fact that my mainboard does in fact support surround sound. It does so by simply repurposing the sockets that are marked for Mic and Line-In to use for rear speakers and sub. I was plugging a plug into the Mic and Line-In sockets for the Sound Blaster so that Mic and Line-In can show up on Device Manager to explicitly disable it to see if it solves the problem. Then I thought I’d do the same with the onboard sound just to make sure the interference isn’t coming from there. When I plugged it in, I got a popup asking what role I want to assign the newly plugged-in device to.
I have an MX Master 3 for work and it’s a phenomenal device. Can work wired while charging as well and battery life is a good 2 weeks before it needs to charge. I pair it with the MX Keys as well at work, which is also a great keyboard.
My wife also uses an MX Keys at home for work with a Logitech silent Bluetooth mouse. Both support their flow software and she switches between a Mac Mini and Macbook Air M2 constantly for work. It really does work quite elegantly.
So all in all I’m quite impressed by modern Logi devices. I was disappointed years ago and also went the Razer route. I’m on my second Naga (using the Trinity currently) and both give me good mileage. My Blackshark V2 headphones are also holding up well, as is my Blade 14. So I can’t really complain about the Razer products I have.
I have noticed a lot of typos lately and I have discovered that occasionally some keystrokes aren’t being captured, any reason this could be happening? I am using a Bluetooth keyboard if that helps.
Edit: I initially thought it was due to low battery but I have since charged it.
Maybe the bluetooth isn’t bluetooth’ing so well anymore.
Jokes aside, maybe it’s just that your keyboard starting to go. Test on multiple OS’s, computers, and apps. Could be an app too, especially these shit electron apps, that seem to pervade everything.
I need some help to make a decision as to how to use my portable inverter and the info out there on the interwebs is contradictory. I have a portable inverter used to power my PC/monitors. Here are the questions
Do I keep my setup plugged into the inverter 24/7 even when my PC is not being used?
Do I switch the trolley off when it is charged and not used?
Currently I have wired the setup like this: PC/monitors → UPS → wall with surge protector. The inverter is charged and off. When it is time for loadshedding, I plug the UPS into the inverter and power it up and go on. When the power comes back, I leave the inverter on and everything connected until it is charged to 90%. Then I switch the UPS back to the wall and turn the inverter off.
Is this way of doing it going to make my inverter battery last longer? Does it make any difference at all if I just leave it plugged into the wall and my setup running off the inverter 24/7? I have set the inverter to not charge higher than 90% and not to drop below 10%.
For reference, this is my inverter/power station: note, I did not buy it from here, just using this link as the least advert ridden one I could find to show the specs.
PS: the reason I am using my UPS AND an inverter is because the inverter has a 0.30ms switch over time, not sure if it will work to keep the PC going without going dark first, but not going to chance it.
Finite recharge cycles. I would unplug when you’re not using it. Small price to pay for longevity.
Side note: Hardware Busters - YouTube covers a lot of PSU’s and also usually mentions how much time the PSU can handle during a switch over of a UPS. I know for a fact, the Corsair RM1000x can handle the interruption in power under full load on the Delta 2, but the SF750 can’t. With the latter, it only survives if it’s a light game like COD, but dies resets with Diablo 4
Thank you, this validates my setup, especially using the UPS and not replacing it with the inverter. It is a little pain to swap plugs but worth it if the battery life is extended realistically.
I did some multiplug juggling with individual switches. So it becomes 2 plugs to move when loadshedding is scheduled, and I’m actually planning on using the pc then.
Not sure about wear of start up. I would keep in mind, this is a mobile product, mostly likely not designed for South Africa’s unique kakstorm, and would probably be plugged in and out a lot, what with it being mobile, and with that, lots of startups. But I’m no expert.
Might be disable by your sysadmin? They have to enable windows hello in their security policy otherwise it is disabled to allow older style authentication.
I have a requirement to “lockdown” some documentation from a website. The website caters for an individual to pay for and subsequently download a PDF/ePUB (the yet-to-be-decided format, this could be decided based on the current topic and how we may resolve it). What we’re trying to stop though, is said individual from sharing their downloaded document.
Sure, we could apply some password security, but then what is stopping them from sharing the password too? I need some help or guidance on how we may resolve this.
**PS: it should go without saying that this is for a personal project and has no bearing on my current job, role, or responsibility.
The only real solution is document encryption with a reader that can decrypt based on a login. Unfortunately, for that to work you would need a whole ecosystem of login servers, a reader app etc. That is not a cheap option. Maybe there is a 3rd party system you could use for that.
I guess it’s just a risk you take in allowing people to download and have ownership of the said document and having a reliance (trust?) on the owner having a moral compass.
Down with bluetooth LE. I’ve been using some god awful browser based editor for a new framework, we’re trying. I thought it was just my internet that caused the lagginess and just general golden syrup like keyboard/mouse interaction with it. It wasn’t. It’s fucking bluetooth 5 LE spec. Low power, keep your batteries for months or years, but constantly sluggish in use. Switched to the 2.4GHz dongles for keyboard and mouse, and it’s better That said, it’s still slower, than just using a locally running IDE. Working exclusively in a browser sucks.
In before someone tells me to plug in a cable. It’s called a leash, and you have one. You can stay in your stone age cave. kthnxbi
