Why are you using port 465 or 587 with encryption? Not that emails don’t get sent past your SMTP server unencrypted, but still…

most use 587, but we have a few legacy clients setup years and years ago that go via our 1 server on 25…and its those ones that have like laptops and we’d get like ‘it doesnt send from the office’ etc.

Also, dont tell me what ports i can and cant use!? ( )

Hell, i think our one client using incoming 1444 for SOME reason. i swear it was probably just a typo from the guy that set up the mail server as his first time or something and then just ran with it. makes documentation tedious (and VERY necessary)

Any reasons I should not go for the hiksemi SSD here:

over the WD here:

The hiksemi one has the same read/write rate, more TBW and more MTTF.

But the warranty of the WD is greater, and this is just a personal thing, but in terms of storage, I actually know Wester Digital, I have not had any experience with hiksemi drives.

This is going to be used as my main gaming SSD

I always opt for the longer warranty.
For R100 difference (and with it being in stock) the choice is pretty clear for me.

I asked a friend of mine who is an IT Manager and he just said “avoid” when I said Hiksense.

Thank you, I am trying to reduce my impulse buys so I am not committing to it just yet, will check what other people say first, also might wait until black Friday, see if the price goes down.

I am also of the same mind that, that R100 is worth the price for a more trusting brand and a better warranty. Just on the fence because for me, R100 is R100, if I can save R100 then I would want to save R100

Sorry, only seeing this now… Is your stuff working again?

We are steadily migrating everyone over to Google Workspace or Google for Business or whatever they call it now. It’s expensive, but Google is the top email provider in the world.

Personally I would go for the Western Digital, 2Tb worth of data is a lot to wager over for just R100 difference, even if a bit more.

My 2c: if this is mission critical data, then I would go brand name, for the extra bit of assurance. If not, and you are just worried about general use quality, then I would go for the cheaper unit as Wootware has to be the best in their after market support. If this fails at any point during the two years, they got your back.

Bought the WD SSD, should get here Thursday, unfortunately no bigger discount on black friday, but its still the cheapest for what you get out of all the online stores i checked.
