oh cool will check maybe i can check with him for notes
Yeah I was heavy into it at one stage, sadly I sold all my equipment and only have film cameras left. I still enjoy it and miss it. Even took a street Photography workshop with Charlie Kirk (aka TwoCuteDogs).
Good Monday morning!
It’s World Tourism Day. If you can, support a local tourism sector business today!
Morning everyone!
Have a good week!
Morning people of the palace have a lovely week
Morning all. Not sure if I’ve got the energy for 5 whole days of work…
@GregRedd any news from the docs?
@FarligOpptreden how is the little one?
Looks like a pretty decent camera. I’m a huge Nikon fan. It is true Canon has better glass, but you pay a premium for that. Nikon glass is just fine. Seriously.
I’ve actually been considering selling my kit, but it’s a D800 with a f2.4 24-70mm lens, and a Sigma 150-500mm. I rarely use it anymore, since the cost of insuring it off my premises that I’m too scared to take it with me everywhere I go.
I feel that, I don;t have energy for job searching at the moment…
I think Canon is great for video but I believe Nikon is still preferable for still image quality.
Let me know what you would want for it, should you wish to sell.
Almost there (we think!) Seeing a gastro surgeon later today for more info. Looks like some sort of rare-ish ulcer that’s irritated every time I go to the bathroom, and just not healing over. That, combined with the ulcer at the top leaking iron combined into my body saying “let’s screw Greg over, and drain him of all the stuff the he needs to live, all at the same time”.
Meds for the one, meds and diet changes for the other, and a month of high fibre eating and taking it slow and I should be good. If not, back in a month to see the surgeon again and look at more invasive solutions.
Hi humans, I hope little one is okay @FarligOpptreden and that everyone else is healthyish or on the way to health
Holding thumbs that the fibre will do it and that the diet change is full of stuff you enjoy anyway!
I definitely do not read this topic enough, and it seems that this is the place to come for updates on people’s lives. So firstly, apologies to those who I have not been following up on wrt their and their loved ones.
Expanding on that, I hope that everyone here is healthy and strong. @GregRedd, you especially, hope you are well! I have so many crappy jokes to make about your situation, alas I don’t want you to be the butt of all my jokes. Seriously though, good luck with all of the health hassles! Let me know if I can teach your class remotely for a day or two. I have more jokes that the generation Y or Z or whatever can cringe at for a few days!
And then I want to put this out there as well, for anybody who is under the weather, have some mental or physical health concerns, or just want a supportive shoulder to lean on or cry on, send me a PM please. I will gladly share in your burden and do my best to lift you, considering that I will not be doing the lifting alone!
This is one of the best things on this forum, we might be a smaaaaaaaaaaaaaalll space on the interwebs but we have this amazing community that always goes above and beyond!
South Africa be like: Fibre is unavailable in your area. But we can help with the ‘high’ part…
Seriously though, I really hope this works out for you and there won’t be a need for a follow-up, other than to give you the all clear.
on a positive note: Marmite is back on the shelves!!
So I had two hockey games yesterday… The first one went pretty well, but rather than waste 1/4 tank of petrol going home between matches, I decided to walk the malls for about 6 hours.
By half way through our evening match, I couldn’t process things mentally, and I definitely couldn’t perform physically. And that has carried over into today.
And we still have practice tonight
But what about Chili Bovril?
I only saw bovril flavoured Bovril, sorry.
Wait?! WHAT?!
I will have to go on a mission and stock up, I was starting to have a panic attack about the lack of marmite
That’s fine too… I will have my own chillies again in the next couple months anyway.
Pro-tip (and I might have posted this before): Add some Bovril (or maybe even marmite?) to your butter as you melt it to put on your popcorn.
