EDIT: The reason it asks for sharing location, is so that it can provide better recommendations based on distance and location.

Sort of yes - we have some monetisation strategies in place which will launch later in the year, but we understand small businesses are cash strapped and won’t find much value in monthly or yearly subs. So we’re rather focusing on referral revenue and a booking / payment platform that is in place where we’ll skim off a small transaction fee.

Thanks! The listings are currently mostly focused around Cape Town, but the idea is to get the community to populate the site with listings and activities that they’ve discovered or want to promote. So let your wife spend time populating the site! We’re working on some gamification as well to promote contributors and to incentivise them in the future for continually adding more content.

In that case I’d also think about premium listings at a low rate, but additional payment per clickthrough. A rremium affiliates system, if you will.
The other way is old school advertising…
Hosting a booking system would work as well, except you’ll have to tie in to the venue’s booking system, which is often a book at the phone, if they even have booking! Just something to keep in mind as you guys develop your model.
