The Formula 1 Thread šŸŽ

Also I really loved my F1 the last two years. But Iā€™m not 100% sure yet if I will follow it this year. It takes up so much time.

Maybe I should only watch the races. Hmmm, will probably go that route.

Hereā€™s a little curveballā€¦ Not sure if anyone thought of this or already mentioned it. But as much as this year should see closer racing due to the regulation changes, what if Merc getā€™s it right again and everyone else getā€™s it wrong. All this will do will make it easier for Merc to overtake if they end up ā€œstuckā€ behind someone :joy:

Lekke lekke pessimistic vibes for you.

The Evolution of Albert Park (Part 1 of 4)

Following the postponement of the Australian Grand Prix in 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the track underwent layout changes, the most notable part is the modification of the Turn 9-10 complex from a heavy right-left corner to a fast-sweeping right-left corner into Turns 11 and 12. Further modifications include the widening of the pit lane by 2 metres and the reprofiling of Turn 13. Also, some corners will be widened such as Turn 1, Turn 3, Turn 6, Turn 7, and Turn 15; and it is expected that these modifications will reduce qualifying lap time by as much as 5 seconds!

Next episodes scheduled 31 Jan (Whatā€™s Changed at Albert Park), 7 Feb (Albert Parkā€™s New High Speed Straight), 14 Feb (The Completed Circuit & 2022).

Donā€™t get too excited about the Barcelona Test thoughā€¦

Itā€™s officially being referred to as a ā€œPre-Season Sessionā€, while the 3 days in Bahrain in March are the ā€œOfficial Pre-Season Testā€. Weā€™ll get no live coverage at all from Barcelona, just a daily write up at the end of each day.

Itā€™s complete BS in my opinion, and Iā€™m sure a truck load of oil money changed hands so that Bahrain can call itself the ā€œOfficial Testing Sessionā€.

I mean even Will Buxton, (the F1 shill!) is calling it a ā€œprivate shakedown sessionā€. When has F1 ever had a shakedown test session? With all of the teams, at the same time, on the same circuit? Load of bollocks!

I still think itā€™s plausible that Masi will be moved into a less public role with the FIA - maybe in this ā€œMission Controlā€ centre thatā€™s being proposed - and theyā€™ll be talking to people like Marcin Budkowski to fill various separated roles at the circuit.

ā€œThe various tasks of the race director, who is also sports director, safety and course delegate, will be divided up,ā€ said Bayer. ā€œThat was just too much.ā€

I once took my then girlfriend, now wife, go-karting for Valentineā€™s day. We were joined by my friend and his girlfriend. My friend and I had an epic battle on track while lapping the ladies :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: But we all had a good time
