I remember watching that race live. What a stunner.
Hats off Ferrari! A 1-2 in Qualifying and a track record too! Sounds like it was a pretty exciting session all round. So much so that I’m thinking that F1 should start considering this 2 day format for the future? Two Practice sessions on Saturday, Qualifying in the morning on Sunday, Race as normal in the afternoon.
This race. The up and the down, the high and the low, the ying and the yang of being a Ferrari fan. Feckin red stallions to red donkeys.
This. From a surprise 1-2 lockout, to another poop start The only saving grace was seeing Hamilton struggle to overtake Vettel.
Well done Bottas though. And epic overtakes by LeClerc.
Vamos, Carlos! Another P5. This guy is so impressive.
Yeah Carlos is aweseome, also great stuff from Renault.
I’m less happy about that particular comeback, since I want McLaren to beat them to 4th place.
My “Driver” of the Day/Season - Toto Wolff. Dude has orchestrated a record 6 consecutive double World Championship titles in his 7 years as Merc Team Principal.
Fully agreed, phenomenal job.
On another note, what does everyone think of the Verstappen / Leclerc incident? I think Leclerc got off lightly with no penalty.
Think LeClerc was trying to fight back since the last time he didn’t when Max did something similar to him. Granted in that race LeClerc wasn’t ahead as Max was now. Him not pitting while having damage though, his own fault.
I really enjoyed the race. Pretty happy for Bottas! Well deserved and my driver of the day. Leclerc had some spectacular overtakes, but really needs patience. And Smooooooooth Operatooooor made me extra happy for the mango squad!
I have to say it was a great race, loads of fun to watch, LeClerc is still a kid, we need to remember he needs experience, he is growing into the role, and the mistakes that is being made I suspect is due to the length of the season and the pressure he is under. I think he has done well till now, but the cracks are showing.
Otherwise I have to agree Bottas was my driver of the day, Vettel - another brainfart, but at least he admits to it now. Max in the wrong place, felt bad for him, suspect the race would have been more interesting if he was there. Albon did well as well, Lando did ok to recover. Still not 100% sure what happened to him.
Sainz drove beautiful. Perez? I must have missed the replay there.
Lewis I suspect would have done better if he stopped moaning and raced…
I really enjoy ChainBear. Here he looks at how early a driver can win the DWC.
Albon punted Lando off the track at the last chicane while trying to overtake him. Watch the race highlights for a replay.
Aah ok thanks
