dude you are not the only one

Not true. While corona does have a mortality rate of 2%, the flu, or common cold has a mortality rate of 0.1%. This is a common misconception of corona versus the flu.

Source: https://www.livescience.com/new-coronavirus-compare-with-flu.html

The reason why people are ā€œhyping upā€ this strand of corona virus so much is that it may develop and mutate faster than normal flu viruses and pose a much bigger health risk to the whole world. It is highly contagious and will easily spread to thousands of people, especially in large groups like, say, a Formula 1 sporting event.

While we wait for the season to start, for Ferrari to be accused of fraud and Lando to post a new meme, let us make some of our own wildest predictions for the year:

I will propose 4 different questions:

Where will the 10 teams end up this year?
Who will win the Drive Championship?
Outside the top 3 teams, which other team/s will feature on the podium?
How many times will Grojean crash this year?

Where will the 10 teams end up this year?

  1. Mercedes
  2. Red Bull
  3. Ferrari
  4. McLaren
  5. Renault
  6. Racing Point
  7. AlphaTauri
  8. Haas
  9. Alpha Romeo
  10. Williams

Who will win the Drive Championship?
Max Verstappen

Outside the top 3 teams, which other team/s will feature on the podium?
McLaren, Racing Point

How many times will Grojean crash this year?

** these teams will be MUCH closer in points than we can imagine right nowā€¦ Final race will determine the eventual winnerā€¦

Charles Leclerc / Valtteri Bottas

I will go one better and name the drivers, not teams:

  • Sergio Perez
  • Carlos Sainz
  • Daniel Ricciardo

Only 5, and then he will get sacked before the year is up.

All 7 of the non-Ferrari powered teams have now signed and posted their letter to the FIA to state their unhappiness with regards to the way the FIA handled the closing of the Ferrari PU investigation.

Hereā€™s the Renault post:

Canā€™t say theyā€™re wrong. Thereā€™s some seriously dirty laundry going on here, and it needs to be sorted out. I like to see a statement from FOM and Liberty Media about where they stand on the matter, because theyā€™ve been awfully quiet since this story broke.

If Ferrari broke the rules, they need to be properly and publicly sanctioned. If they ā€œbentā€ the rules and utilized a loophole, which the FIA is now closing, good for them. But tell people about it. If itā€™s the FIA itself that is at fault somehow, and what Ferrari did causes them embarrassment, so be it. Tell people about it.

This pussyfooted approach to dealing with problems behind closed doors and concluding year long investigations with a ā€œconfidential settlementā€ that you tell everyone about in a two paragraph press release is complete BS. It does Ferrari, the FIA, and the entire operation of F1 no good at all.

Some more video of Max at Zandvoort. Couple of these trackside external views really highlight the undulations:

The broadcaster have something to learn from these shots: GREAT STABILISED VIDEO!

Also, is there a rule on what age a car has to be before you can do ā€œprivate testsā€ on a track? All these tests are done in cars with no halo. And the events Red Bull sponsors always have the RB15.

Glorious!

I think itā€™s 3 years + if you donā€™t want to go through too many FIA hoops.

The regulations refer to Testing of Previous Cars (TPC) as being cars from within the previous 3 calendar years. If you want to use them, you need FIA pre-approval and are limited to just 50km.

Then thereā€™s a section about Testing of Historical Cars (THC) which refers to cars older than the TPC category, doesnā€™t require FIA approval and has no limit on mileage.

Ah, that also explains why some of the tests are done in ā€œwetā€ tyres

Suppose since the F1 thing isnā€™t going to happen they(not the same people I know) move to the next best(and no noise for the complainy Cape Town people) idea.

I donā€™t have a middle name. Iā€™m thinking ā€œNostradamusā€ has a nice retro ring to it?
