The second one is the Veloce Esports ā€œNot the AUS GPā€ event that @Wyvern posted about above. This is the one initially proposed by Jean-Eric Vergne.

  • This the event featuring Landon Norris and Jean-Eric of course. The F1 2019 gamers and pros involved include Formula Dani, Tiametmarduk, Aarva, Super GT and James Baldwin. Other drivers and gamers still to be announced.
  • Theyā€™ll be racing on the Melbourne Circuit using F1 2019 and begin at 7:45 PM (17:45 GMT)

With all the last minute Australian GP cancellation shenanigans and the Covid-19 news over the weekend, the FIA/Ferrari vs. The Rest story that dominated the F1 news in the weeks before sort of fell off the radar.

Most of us may have missed this little (but significant) nugget of news along the way:

I was just thinkingā€¦

How will a season with no racing affect driver contracts? Will guys like Vettel be automatically given another year at Ferrari as he did not have the chance to show he still ā€œgot itā€? And what about Ricciardo at Renault? It feels like he might be keen to get out of there to a team that can supply him with a winning car, but Renault can say they were not given the chance and force him to stay? I am just wondering of all the possibilities. As far as I am aware only Verstappen and Leclerc has contracts for next year?
