I hope so too. The official statement was quick to say he was âconscious and wellâ, but even so, I couldnât stop thinking back to when we heard about Michael Schumacherâs skiing accident.

Am I the only one who is ignoring the news that comes from the Merc camp⌠I believe that Lewisâs contract was sorted out last year - now blaming covid for not signing - bullshit - they knew they would get more news out of it.

I think it was sorted in a handshake agreement, but with details to be hashed out and then signed. Merc only ever said âitâs not signedâ, which everyone (read: the internet) took to mean drama. I think it was just a matter of the exact payment (ie. does Sir Lewis get a 5, or 5.5 percent bump?) and the mechanism of Mercâs support for Lewisâ other racing endeavours like the Hamilton Commission.
