The Formula 1 Thread šŸŽ

Ya heart breaking stuff for Leclerc, he was cruising for a win there.

For a race without one safety car there was quite a bit of drama, kept it interesting.

I have to admit it was a great race. Lots of action and better race directors

Itā€™s a back-to-back RAWE CEEK!!

And, while a lot can still change before Sunday, the weather in the Principality looks like it might add a little spice to things:

Round 7: :monaco: 2022 Monaco Grand Prix :monaco:

Circuit de Monaco ā€¢ Monaco

Ahh, Sainte Devote, Casino Square, Mirabeau, the Hairpin and the Tunnel, Tabac, La Rascasseā€¦ iconic names from an iconic circuit. The Circuit de Monaco twists through the narrow streets of Monte Carlo, Their Serene Highnesses Al and Charlie watch from padded chairs above the rabble, the unsanctioned oligarchs perch on the decks of their mega-yachts floating on real water. Yes, the 2022 edition of the glittering showcase jewel of the F1 calendar is here!

Miami ainā€™t got nothing on this place! And La Familia Grimaladi wonā€™t be the only royals in town this weekend.

Will Prince Chuck Leclerc break the voodoo curse and finish a race on his home circuit? Will King Louie ā€œEngine Saverā€ Hamilton defy the wrath and fury of the FIA by wearing more jewellery than a Detroit pimp? Will Duke Max the Lion of Orange sit quietly in the shadows, smirking at the charade, before pouncing when the others least expect?

So much intrigue. So much drama. So much muchness. Because, letā€™s be honest, thatā€™s what we come to Monaco for. The racing, maybe not so much.

Track all the official news from the official Monaco GP on the official F1 site:

ā€˜I donā€™t think about itā€™ ā€“ Leclerc shrugs off so-called Monaco curse as he predicts weekend of ā€˜surprisesā€™ at home

The weather forecast for the early part of the weekend has cleared up a bit since we last checked on Monday. But the forecast for Sunday has not. A wet weather Monaco GP? Whoever survives that carmageddon deserves to stand on the podium and do a full on Maximus ā€œAre you not entertained?!ā€

FFS Ferrari and their kak strategies needs to end. Threw away a easy win. Even a car with worn tyres couldnā€™t be passed.

What a brilliant day of motorsport all round. MotoGP in Mugello saw an Italian on an Italian bike win in Italy. The Nurburgring 24 Hour was won by a team featuring South Africaā€™s own Kelvin van der Linde. Ex-F1 driver Marcus Ericsson just won the Indy 500. And we had a decently exciting Monaco Grand Prix for a change. All in one day!

Gutted for Charles - he had his dream win in the bag until that shitty pit call from the team. Itā€™ll be doubly devasting for him if he doesnā€™t get another chance to win in Monaco if they donā€™t sort out the contract soon. Stoked for Checo on his win - he seems like a genuinely nice guy and deserved to capitalise on the Ferrari cockup.

My red teams - Liverpool last night and Ferrari today - havenā€™t had the best of weekends, but itā€™s all good. Next time! Forza Ferrari and YNWA!
