GREAT RACE!
Some insight into the Bearman accident. I think itās a mercy that the race in Saudi has been cancelled. Given the near misses that have happened there in the past - this kind of thing would be extremely dangerous.
Geez, I havenāt thought about that bit yet - Jeddah has all those stupid blind corners surrounded by Armco⦠thatās a big crash waiting to happen.
I was all for changes in the regulations, and even though Iām not enjoying the racing as much immediately, I felt we just need to give the teams time to get their heads around it, but I think Bearmanās crash highlighted how stupid the closing speeds can be in racing conditions, and how quickly they can change.
Now, I am back in the āfix the regsā camp, and I have always been in the āScrap Jeddah, itās kakā camp.
I was actually in the same camp. But agreed now as well.
I just need to brag a bit. I was at the Suzuka race sat at the end of spoon conner. Only sow the end of the Bearman crash. If anyone ever goes and just have general access ticket. take a chair and be super early we nearly did not get any seats on Sunday. Landed back in SA today. Thinks that stood out about Japan. Dam the streets are clean and there is no rubbish bins any ware. and the train are sometime rather early than late
What an awesome experience! Iām going to be travelling to Japan in July, but no where near a F1 GP circuit or race.
Man Iām so jelly of you both. One day when Iām big.
I agree
So, will this be the straw that gets Max to quit and go endurance racing instead? Or has that decision already been made and was what prompted GP to move?
Saw a sensible suggestion that it could be into the Team Principal role, with Andrea Stella moving into the F1 boss role, so that Zach Brown can go off and manage the McLaren Group properly. Iām hopeful this is true, especially the last bit. ![]()
You want Zach Brown out of the F1 team or do you want McLaren group to be run properly? ![]()
I like the way GP is just about the only one who knows how to talk to Max.
Max is done with F1, he looks bored. And frustrated. Plus he is as we all know, a really good driver, even in GT3. If his team does not get a DQ he will be winning the Nurburgring 24H. No idea who can afford him in proper WEC but I also see him starting his own Hypercar team just to be able to enter things like Le Mans⦠But then again they have all sorts of hybrid tech in there as well ![]()
Did you all see Strollās adventure into GT3?
Just keeps on proving daddyās money doesnt buy talent ![]()
I read the article. He was the 8th fastest driver on track, and his time was set in the dark. So he is not TERRIBLE⦠Perfectly fine for GT World Challenge. However, the penalties are typical for Lance - blue flag and track limit infringements.

The new blue flag rules donāt make any sense, though. Theyāre beginning to change the other formulaās to mirror F1ās blue flag rules, which are dumb imo.
Surprised no one posted this yet
We were waiting for you to post it! ![]()
Am I the only scepticā¦
Speak your mind Wyv
I have no faith in these changes, we will see more Olie style accidents due to this stupid system.
Give us real cars back, feck they have formula eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee and other kak categories for BS racing, I miss real engines, real racing fuel and the noise and goosebumps that goes along with it.
Yes the āracingā is a bit more interesting, I still fall asleep half way through a race and am at the point of cancelling my F1 sub since it is just sad, even watching the endurance racing is more interesting at this point and if I could get NAscar somewhere to watch I would
I donāt mind it but not as it is currently. If we can have these tweaks in to make it better then Iām all for it. what Iām not for is fake overtaking, that all looked exciting until you realised its just different battery strats ![]()
