For those that want to watch it live, it will be starting at 3:30 in the wee hours of the morning of 7 December for us South Africans. I am actually rather tempted to wake up for the show.
Errr, 3:30AM? Not gonna happen. I’ll read your live blog update summary in this thread 4 hours later.
(Thanks for volunteering to do a live blog BTW )
Uhhh…sure no problem?
I’ll ensure that I make a massive pot of coffee to keep me awake then.
(Yes Discourse, it is a complete emoji sentence!)
The timing really sucks for us, but it may be worthwhile logging into Mixer and leaving the channel open overnight…
Edit: That unclickable Twitter link goes here: https://mixer.com/TheGameAwards
So I’ve decided 100% that I am going to be crazy and actually wake up in the early hours of the morning for this damn show. I’ll be sure to post here as often as my sleep deprived mind can.
I’ll possibly manage the 2nd half from around 5:00-5:30. If you’ve collapsed into a sleep deprived semi-coma by then, I’ll pick up the posting duties. Maybe.
And I’m up and watching. Pre-show just started.
Lots of action in the pre-show. What happened in the pre-show:
Best Action game is:
Dead Cells, wow beating a couple of big games.

Journey to a Savage Planet. Looks cool but literally no information. The dev says it’s an adventure survival game. Will share trailers if I find it.

Game Announcements:
Sayonara Wild Hearts for Switch, The Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe for all platforms, Along Trees.
All the esports winners also announced during the pre-show. Couldn’t keep up with all the winners

Show is so damn long, I have to go to work now. Will update later.
Damn fine job @DieGrootHammer. Think you only missed the last two awards (Best Ongoing Game and GotY) which I’ll leave for you to update. So many new trailers to watch, gosh.
Right, all is updated, and all trailers added. I am very surprised that God of War won GOTY. Thought RDR2 would walk it after the many other awards it won.
Overall I enjoyed the show. Was really fun to watch, and some great reveals. The Outer Worlds looks epic!!!
I’m glad GoW won game of the year, that game really deserves it.
This was a pretty cool moment:
I am so hyped for this and super happy that it’s not an exclusive. Day 1 (if I have money).
That Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe trailer is hilarious!
