Sitting on a 130-hecter farm in Botrivier working remotely and listening to nature. We get lions roaring in background which is quite unnerving and amazing at the same time, never experienced it before.

That’s awesome! Speaking of nature, I remember yay back when we had all night LANs, one of the things I remember was hearing the birds early morning singing and chirping outside.
Also, when growing up, we had a smallish bird aviary outside, it was awesome. Had so many birds and little quails. I really wish I could do something like that again.
Regularly went to Wesrand Voëlplaas (I think) was amazing there, they had this huge aviary, had this owl in it… asked about and was told it still exists but apparently the area has turned very bad.

Over 2 days of no power, no showers and doing the inverter/generator shuffle, spent almost R1k in petrol for the gen.
Hurry up eskelm! I need power and a hot shower!
