Morning all. Woke up to a large water pipe burst in the neighbourhood and no water in the taps. Anyone want to estimate the probability percentage of Joburg Water resolving the issue over the weekend?

Morning folks! It’s SATURDAY! Now normally I wouldn’t be so stoked because I often work on Saturdays, but I actually have the day off today! I am going to play No Man’s Sky, Vegetate, play with Jake, and eat everything in the fridge. Might even take a NAP in the middle of the day. It’s unpredictable! Anything or Nothing could happen! Wooooooooooooo

It’s amazing how toothache can really put you in a terrible mood.

Good morning all. Turns out I maligned Joburg Water yesterday. They worked overnight to repair some 4m of the damaged main feed pipe, and just 27 hours later, I’m about to step into a shower again.

Allegedly, the job would have been completed even quicker if it weren’t for the added complication of having a fallen street light with live cables pretty much in the middle of the hole.

Based on that, a job well done :clap:t2:

Did you do that to avoid the hockey games?

We don’t talk about that…

We only got into hockey last year, since we found NHL puts highlights on Youtube every day, but wife and I have been loving it. Unfortunately my wife made a mistake and decided to follow the Oilers. I tried to explain to her from the perspective of the Ferrari F1 fans I know, but she did not budge. As least McDavid got MVP to sooth her pain.

I nearly followed the Maple Leaves, since I like Nielander and they’re Will Arnett’s favourite team, but I steered clear of that annual heartbreak. Now I just support all teams equally!

It could be worse, she could have chosen the Jets… They’re from my home town, so I’ve been following them for life (minus the years we didn’t have the team). We made it to the conference finals once… Once! We’ve had a great team the past number of years, but they always choke… Always! This year they started so strong, now I don’t even bother watching the highlights anymore

But hey, at least the aren’t whining about touching a curling rock or anything… smh

Just got back from the dentist.

  • Abcess in one of my roots/nerves causing the pain, and thus antibiotics.
  • Need root canal and crowns on two of my teeth.
  • None of which I can afford.

Oh boy. I’ve had some recent experience with that…Dr gave me Schedule 6 pain stuff. The antibiotics and pain meds the dentist gave did nothing. Had to go see a Dr.
Figured it was better to stay upright than lie down, prolly due to blood pressure when you head is lowered.

Nothing quite hurts like tooth pain. (From a male pov that is.)

lol yeah funnily I find the pain gets worse at night and this is logical explanation I gave myself too.

I have antibiotics for now along with Mybulen, then a follow up appointment on next Monday to sort out one of the problem teeth — sadly there’s no much structure left to fill it effectively.

Also had to prioritize a series of teeth work (implants for broken and missing teeth, root canals, crowns). Starting with the most dire and over time do the others and spend bonuses etc to get them done. I grew up financially challenged and never got to see a dentist, paying the price for that now.
