Anyone have experience with sleep apnea, sleep clinics and CPAP machines? It looks like I will have to spend thousands to not choke to death in my sleep.

I do!
I have significant sleep apnoea, from a narrower than average throat. I’ve had it when I was underweight for my length at varsity, and it of course grew worse as I grew into my final form, which is slightly-obese-according-to-the-BMI-scale-but-luckily-my-wife-disagrees. The apnoea and associated snoring caused me to have to sleep in the spare room more often that not. I also often woke up feeling awful, sommer with a headache to start the day.
Turns out, that’s from a lack of oxygen…
So, I went to see an ENT, because I had a deviated septum from losing several fights with glass sliding doors over the years. It was plausible that the septum was the root cause, so I had a small operation to fix that. It helped, but turned out to not have been the big issue.
So I went to a sleep clinic. The technician came to my house to strap a couple of sensors to me to record my sleep; once while on a loaner CPAP machine, and once vanilla.
The results were clear, and I felt better after one night on the machine.
I got the clinic and ENT to write recommendations for my medical, but I don’t think they covered any thing. In spite of that, it’s the best R16k I have ever spent. If my CPAP packs up today, I will beg, borrow, and steal to buy one tomorrow. The quality of life improvement is massive, not to even consider the long term health deficits sleep apnoea causes.
10/10, can wholeheartedly recommend. The only downside is that now, when the power is out, I can’t sleep…

I went for that sleep test, found that I had that and needed the machine…never did it. But funny I should read this, this morning, I am dead dead tired, and dont know how I am going to face this day, its not even officially started…

They were F1 themed race car shaped KitKats 
They were part of the launch of the KitKat / F1 sponsorship deal planned to be in stores in time for the start of the European leg of the F1 races. They disappeared somewhere between the factory in Italy and Poland where they were supposed to be distributed.
