Question is, how many people use languages other than C# in the .NET CLR? I’d be surprised if C# (any version) comprises of less than 80% of the total .NET usage… It has become kind of synonymous with .NET in modern days.

I can argue the same with people expecting people who know “Node.js” as a language, but I don’t (anymore). I just chuckle softly and accept that not everyone understands the software industry equally well. But at least I know what they refer to when listing .NET and Node.js as programming languages and that’s probably all that matters.

I went to renew my passport at the bank it was quite fast the payment means was abit confusing at first. But going to the bank was quite fast and painless. they said it will take 14 working days. If you dont get it in the next 14 days then I would maybe follow up

We have our passports, the certificates are what we are waiting for. We have tried phoning Dep of home affairs, no one answers the phone. We sat in a 3 hour queue just to follow up and was told, we must wait.

Very frustrating

From what it sounds like it’s the source data that’s the problem. The outcome I’m hoping for is that .NET isn’t listed as a programming language anymore.

For instance in this article from yesterday: https://mybroadband.co.za/news/software/324028-the-most-popular-programming-languages-south-africa-vs-the-world.html

It compares the programming languages in South Africa compared to the rest of the world by using the Tiobe Index. Now the Tiobe Index is actually correct and doesn’t list .NET as a programming language since it isn’t one.

Then the article states:
“Python has overtaken C# to move into second place, while Javascript and .NET round out the top 5.”

That’s like saying:
“English has overtaken Afrikaans to move into second place, while Zulu and Caucasian round out the top 5.”

It’s nonsensical.

It may be worthwhile finding out from JCSE or IITPSA why they are listing .NET as a programming language.

And that’s basically it.

Thats so frustrating that if you want to try get some sort of information to get get told must wait.

Its as if they forgot that people just want to have a idea on whats going on, even if they said its in process it takes xyz, this would be more helpful than just wait… wait how long 3 days 7 days 6 months…
