Most motherboards have a list of certified ram, on the manufacturer website for each model.
Most shops are willing to swap your purchase for compatible memory if you explain the situation. And if they don’t. Don’t go back.
If they don’t take it back, try each stick of ram in different slots. Lastly, you could try fiddling with your RAM timings, though maybe do some research for you try that.
Can’t find anywhere that you mentioned your motherboard manufacturer and model, othterwise I’d find the memory list
