My sister in law resigned and gave a month notice, she is a real estate agent and has been poached by a rival company who see’s her worth. Now the contract she signed wont let her work in a 30km radius for the next two months - her catchment area is here so she cant work for two months, but the new place is fine with that. The issue that is evolving is her boss said fine you leave but then you leave now. He owes her a decent amount in commission, that he will pay out when he feels like it - his words.
Now the issue is we are fine with the 2 month wait - she can get her foot in the door, without breaking the clause. But she needs her commission to eat and pay for the house and so on.
Now we want her to speak to an attorney, who is willing to help her pro bono. The fuck up is her dad is sticking his nose in the mess and insisting that she skip the lawyers and just go to the CCMA.
Her case will be dismissed most likely because she doesnt earn a wage/salary just commission.

Why would the CCMA dismiss her case? Income is income regardless of whether it is a salary or commission. She just needs to show the proof of earnings. If i was her i would go both the CCMA and attorney route.

Its so stupid, if you see a person leave the company a good leader should promote growth. Plus if she was a asset to the company instead of being like that he could of done a counter offer.
I guess she is better off but damm its messed up when companies do that I had a Similar situation with a place manager was a total B!!@#!$%!@#! when i left she had big words to say.

Dude I’ve been hustling like a mofo the last two weeks.
Got about 25 500ml beers and a 12 pack of Heineken. About 40 bottles of wine and 2 cases of brandy (which I bought for trading purposes long before the latest lockdown as I don’t drink brandy). I blame video games for this ridiculous resource hoarding.
But i’m going to stop now because it’s getting ridiculous. I have acquired more wine than I’m likely to ever drink (considering I’m not even terribly fond of wine to begin with), and the beer will remain the valuable liquid gold that it is - i.e. 1 or 2 a weekend.
