Mornings!

I know right…
But have you seen that you can heat up Super M chocolate milk as well? Saw an ad for it the other day… Don’t know if I want to potentially spoil my favourite cold chocolate milk

@SIGSTART - you guys did great with the articles on Evetech! It is interesting to see the response to it as well from Evetech’s side as well as that poor employee. I know how the staff feels. I feel bad for them

But then I found this:

But those stories are attracting a lot of interest

Found a packet of Hug in a Mug for like R36 at Checkers, which to my surprise, is made by House of Coffee’s. It was really nice, about as good as the Nestle branded hot chocolate.

I mean sure, I drink the more expensive coffee, like Nescafe Gold or Jacobs etc. That being said, if I had to give up coffee to buy hot chocolate on a regular, the usual price is around R60-R80 per jar. One the average cup you use around 4 scoops to make a cup, not to mention the amount of milk. Have you seen the price of milk lately?!

It’s like a vicious circle.

I can’t stand the hug in a mug stuff - same goes for those instant coffee mixes.
Currently we only buy milk at Spar, Ranges from R21 - R26 per 2L, but as for hot chocolate - the closest I get is buying a small jar of nutella (the cheap knock off version) and add a teaspoon of that to my coffee. Sugar replacement

blaspheme!

How can you violate coffee in such a manner! :stuck_out_tongue:

I can only have a proper cafe mocha from specific places, Vida being one of them.

Considering that is what we did at a 4 star hotel for guests, I can deal

Find a place like Baker’s Bin. Buy a big arse bag of cocoa. It’s not the best cocoa in the world, but it is cheap. Mix 1 tsp of cocoa with 2 tsp sugar (more or less to taste). Add 1 tsp of hot water, and make a paste (the hot water makes the cocoa flavour pop).

Add a cup/mug of warm/hot milk, stir, and enjoy. Can’t do anything about the price of milk though…

Lately, I’ve been using my cappuccino machine to heat the milk, it works really well.

The hug in a mug is awesome, but you have to have the right size cup. If you have a huge mug it’s gonna taste crap. I bought a couple of smaller mugs for those sachets.

Also since I bake quite often now I buy cocao and will add that to coffee for a mocha. Works so nicely with douw egberts and a heaped spoon of cocoa.

I use my coffee mugs, but I never full them to the top. I stopped doing that years ago, even with coffee. But I pretty much follow the same technique as @murfle demonstrated.

Mornin’ y’all.

Thanks, @Wyvern! I jumped on it when I saw your post about Carbonite banning them, but Bradley was already busy asking Evetech questions. At MyBroadband we work on a strict dibs system .

I don’t think Evetech realised how significant the negative sentiment is towards them and how much damage their silence would do.

Hopefully this is the push they need to improve.

The alternative is for someone to compete with them, but I don’t know that there’s room in the market for two PC gaming hardware focused retailers that order massive amounts of stock to get the prices down.

From what I saw they rely on grey imports to keep their prices low but then can’t offer support.
