“This is not the greatest topic in the world… this is just a tribute”

that then means its not so much Device related its more router related. could be a ISP issue or the device is not establishing the connections correctly

Morning all. Anyone else on MTN LTE with no internet, or is it just me and my shitty Huawei router?

I changed it on the router, did the ipconfig/renew and flushdns.

It was 0.0.0.0 now 1.1.1.1

I have reported it to Cool Ideas, so lets see how long they take.

Also evening all

Sorry this weekend was one for quiet - was working at the vape shop and it was very busy.

Hopefully your ISP gets back to you.

I’m a fan of Quad9: 9.9.9.9.

Apparently Cloudflare (which runs 1.1.1.1) was down this afternoon.

Sweet! Never heard of them before. They also support DNS over HTTPS, so that’s promising.

Morning all, at least it was an easy fix from coolideas, they just changed the MTU to 1380 (still not 100% sure what that does but it fixed the issue)

Thats interesting. MTU ( maximum transmission unit). MTU has to do with packet sizes over a network.

Easy way can explain MTU is almost like a basement parking. The basement parking has that max height pole so cars higher than 1.8m cant enter. This is the same with MTU. If a car is smaller than 1.8m (MTU lets say 1200Byte) the car will can enter. (Your network is sending a packet of 1200 but the next layer on the network can take 1500byte). But if you use a car thats higher than 1.8 going into a basement you wont be able to enter. (if you send 1550 and that goes into the next layer that has 1500 as the limit traffic will be blocked) so they must have limited the the size to smaller or larger. Could also have other things have happened but thats the best way I know what MTU is.

I could be wrong if so >< i need to relearn some stuff

Still quite strange that this was mostly limited to FNB that is known of. Could be that they limit the packet size to the interfaces that blocked you access to the site on your home network.

But at least its working
