So what’s the trick of going up in levels?

You need to gain XP. Crafting badges gives you XP and you can craft badges with cards thar drop from games. You can have a look at your Steam profile under the badges section to see what you need to do to craft badges. The community badges require participation, like writing a review, uploading screenshots, commenting on someone’s profile, etc…

FYI: OldSpend is money spent on Steam before April 17th, 2015. That is the date upon which Steam implemented a new ‘Limited User Account’ policy to protect against phishing and spamming activity.

My steam spendings are like R8000 total over a period of 7 years, so just over R1000 a year. However, I spent more than that basically every single month on games from 2009 to April this year, while I was working at BT Games. It’s really hard resisting new games if you’re surrounded by them all day. If PSN had something like this I’d also probably get a huge scare.
