19 more original Xbox games become backward compatible this month

During this month Microsoft will be making 19 more original Xbox titles backward compatible on the current xbox one generation of consoles. All of these Original Xbox games will take advantage of the power of Xbox One with up to 4X the pixel count on Xbox One and Xbox One S, and up to 16X the pixel count on Xbox One X.

with backwards compatible games do you just insert the disk and play?

Sort of. If you have the physical disc, it’ll download an emulator-ready digital version to your machine. You still need the disc in the console to play the game though:

Xbox One backward compatibility works with digital content as well as disc games. In fact, if you enter a supported disc into your Xbox One, the machine will download the game from Xbox Live first - although you will need the disc to be in the machine each time you play.

If you own a digital copy of a supported game it appears in your games list ready for download. Check your My Games & Apps hub to see if any are listed among the games yet to be installed.
