I heard about the Speed Running festival that kicked off this week and decided to check it out. It’s surprising addictive watching various speedrunners play well-known and obscure games. There was a Contra coop run of about 13mins that was very very impressive.
Has anyone checked out the stream on Twitch?
I luckily found a Youtube channel that uploads the streams rather quickly after the run. I got into watching speedrunning sometime last year, and I actually rather enjoy the runs. Friday’s schedule looks packed with awesome games being run
I’m looking forward to the Lovely Planet speedrun today at 12:30pm - despite its “cutesy” aesthetic it’s a really tough twitch shooter requiring pinpoint aim and movement. It will awesome to see an expert play it and realise how bad I really am at the game

But this year I really enjoyed the runs. It’s the first time I actually got into the speedrunning thing, and I was fascinated by what these people could do in game.
@DieGrootHammer I see the AGDQ channel now has started putting up the videos. I normally start watching it now since everything is in order as ti happened and you can skip all the bullshit inbetween. I did watch the Bloodborne run yesterday and that was awesome. Cant wait to catch up on the rest.
The $108k donation was the money made from Twitch subscriptions to the channel. The sub was $4.99 so over 20 000 people subbed.
Awesome I’ll go have a look, because there are some runs I missed that I’d like to watch, plus the channel I used didn’t upload everything.
