Assetto Corsa & AC Racing League [MEWRL]

Do this one!

Or just the one round if you get it sorted.

I finally got around to trying Ilja’s Custom Shader Patch 1.7.6 Preview build, with Sol 2.1.3 and weather with the Natural Filter Mod. Hoe Lee Sheet. It looks mindbogglingly superb. Making my way down town, going fast, … I mean, making my way through post processing filters, one by one. This is like sim racing Skyrim mods. Turn a 2014 game into something that looks like it’s actually from 2077 :smirk:

Oh, FSR is added in CSP 1.7.6 preview build. If you haven’t tried it… the time is now

I tried opentrack with aitrack last night with a phone as the webcam. It is excellent. Can recommend, if you want VR like freedom or just want to ogle the car’s interior. Admittedly, I drive very badly, and have to make a conscious effort not to move my head much. Defaults are sane though, and there’s not much setup in the 2 apps, and zero in Assetto Corsa. Heck it even works in Dirt Rally 2.0, though it’s arguably more difficult with that sim, since you’re more often sideways than less

I’ve used SmoothTrack with Opentrack and it also works really well. My problem is that I need to get something to mount my phone at the top of the screen.

Thinking of trying this:

I tested it out successfully in MS Flight Sim, ACC and Automobilista 2 (works really well in this).

I love the bracket

So I see at the start of this topic that I actually joined in with the first race but I don’t really remember how I did it so I’ve reinstalled the game again and will do a bit of practicing first and then join in again.
I see from the links that this round/league is almost done anyway.

Perfect excuse not to worry about placing  just rock up and drive!

Yeah there’s that but also I don’t want to crash into anyone haha

@GregRedd and @Dragonic has a tendancy to do that to each other… Just avoid them.

Also, @aldyr will break his gearbox all by himself, no need to worry about hitting him.

Ahem, this time around, there’s no clutch. Only got my front left tire to worry about

Besides, based on how quickly @Entity picked up PGA Golf, it’s probably you, the solid midfielder, that should be worried :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Ok so I practiced for a bit now, first timetrial and then a race just to learn how to not hit other cars. It started out like this

but eventually smoothed out. The link for the server on the first page gave me this error though

I tried to search for MEW but it came up with courses that I didn’t have and cars that I needed, like the F1 one.

Any help please? Are the courses and cars needed DLC?

All the extra stuff for Assetto Corsa is mod based stuff. 90% of it is free. There’s a bunch of different places where we download the mods from - if you scroll back through this topic you’ll find links to various sites, and to some personal cloud drives for the custom liveries some of us make.

The apps you need for the League Races - Helicorsa and Real Penalty (and many more besides) - are also free. They, and a lot of the car and track mods can be found on Race Department, so if nothing else, make an account there and grab some stuff:

https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/

In terms of managing your mods and AC install, by far the best application, and what we all use (I don’t think I’ve ever actually started AC from the Steam launcher?) is a free Assetto Corsa alternative launcher and game manager called Content Manager.

https://assettocorsa.club/content-manager.html

It’s a ridiculously detailed tool designed to handle all of the custom mods effortlessly. You can literally drag the mod files you’ve downloaded - apps, tracks, cars - onto the app, and click on an install button. With the right permissions set in Content Manager you can even update your files directly from the server page.

Shout if you get stuck.

Ok thanks. I did get the Content Manager from your first post but I’ll sign up at racedepartment and look through it.

There’s a google drive link in the corona cup info channel on MEW discord with most tracks we used so far, the 2 UI apps that’s needed, and the car.

@SlinX had a server crash after the last race, so presumably he’s fixing it still :man_shrugging:

Next track he’ll choose a day before the time. It’s like a lucky packet

Yeah I saw that so wasn’t too worried. I forgot about checking the discord. Thanks

I think I got things running again. And then Oops

That’s so weird… in all of the editions of the Corona Cup (we are in the 5th at the moment) there’s only ever been two occasions where a driver has managed to blow the engine. Once at Goodwood in the MX5, and then at Silverstone in that Seat Leon.

Both were me. Both were me driving cars with my own custom livery.

And now you do it too, in a car with my livery on it….

Smells like a conspiracy to me.:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

And not just ANY livery… CORONA LIVERY!
