A new year and to kick it off lets watch some games get completed way quicker than they should! I’ve come to love watching the Speedruns during the Games Done Quick events. The sheer variety of games and the skill and dedication of the speedrunners provides some great entertainment.
Here’s the official website: GDQ where you can catch the Stream and have a look at the schedule for the next week (24 hours a day). You can also watch on Twitch, and if you have Prime why not use you free sub since all the funds raised through subscribing go towards worthy charities (you can also make donations).
Yeah, I really enjoy watching speedruns and fully support their motives for doing it. I’ve already been watching/listening since just before 8am this morning.
I usually take a couple days off and sit around at home playing games with the stream on in the background. Couldn’t do that this year unfortunately. I’ll still catch all my favorite runs/runners in the VODs.
I’ve been watching since around 2012, I cannot believe it’s been 8 years already
P.S. long time watcher, first time donating, greetings from Germany! HOYPE!
So far my favourite Speedrun has been The Fallout Anthology by Tomatoangus. Fallout 1, 2, 3, New Vegas and 4 all in one go! There was a good amount of humour and he explained really well the different tricks and tactics that he was using to skip large parts of the games. It makes you appreciate the skill and dedication that goes into these speedruns.
I didn’t watch a whole lot. But the Adventure Island 2 run by The Mexican Runner was so good. Tense and funny in one run. Just what I like.
The I stayed for the next run Hebereke, no idea what it was but glad I stayed, that was fun as well.
The preview is not loading properly, but AGDQ managed to raise more than $3 million this year, bringing the total money raised in the past 10 years to over $25 million
I missed most of the marathon due to first week back at work. Now i am waiting for the VOD’s to all be uploaded to youtube.
I did watch the Doom 2016 100% run last night. That was insane and just over 2 hours long. After watching AGDQ’s i also think about the insane amount of time these people must have spent practicing for runs like these. I imagine it takes a certain amount of patience and determination that I do not possess at all.
