Morning all, went to bed early last night, no Internet and nothing on TV.
Between my part job and having a very sick dog with an upset tummy, not much resting happening yet.
At least the parentals left to go visit family in Hartenbos till Thursday, so I have some peace and quiet (as much as Mika will give me.)
For those of you still working, take a deep breath and I will think of you.
It’s actually just started raining here after a very hot few days.
I know I am MIA but still try to chech in when I can.

thats a vivo, how the hell did the airbags not deploy ?

there’s a reason i dont like vivo’s they are built on the cheapest possible way, they dont have to adhere to german standards like the normal internationally built vw’s thus the car is perceived as good value for money but almost all the parts are locally sourced an local is not always lekker. if one airbag didnt deploy it would have been understandable it happens sometimes but both didnt which means that the impact sensors probably didnt send a signal, hell its a vivo maybe they fit airbags but no impact sensors, it is south africa after all

several factors play a role in why airbags don’t deploy :
- Generally with side (if you don’t have side curtain airbags) and rear impact collisions airbags MIGHT not fire
- Faulty airbag sensors
- Rubbish wiring
- Defective airbag
Now, looking at that wreck it looks like (and I’m no expert) that the nose got clipped from the side. This will not cause the airbags to deploy.
My Polo with 100% working airbags got hit, when I was stationary, from behind by a car doing ~100km/h and not a single airbag deployed. So it’s possible, but it really depends.
