Call of Cthulhu

I played Call of Cthulhu over the weekend. It’s a horror adventure game set in Lovecraft’s universe and it makes use of Chaosium’s pen and paper RPG. It was given away for free on Games with Gold and I just love the whoe Cthulhu mythos.

The game itself is great in some ways and really bad in others. It makes use of the Unreal Engine and looks great. Except for the characters who have some of the worst lip syncing and animations I’ve seen in a very long time. The game itself reminds me of both Vampyre and Murdered: Soul Suspect. The protagonist has the same voice actor as Vampyre and it has the same dark feel. The game structure is very similar to Murdered: Soul Suspect though.

I just love all of that but it has some seriously annoying stealth action sections that they should have just left out.

Still some of the best gaming sessions of my memory.
