Been really enjoying City Planner Plays’ breakdowns of the Feature Highlights that have been put out. With the big changes that the new milestones and development trees bring to game progression, this deep dive of his is worth the time…

Feature Highlight 12: Sound and Music

Shhh… Can you hear that? :bird: Birds chirping, :dog: dogs barking, :red_car: tires screeching, :bullettrain_front: trains honking? It sounds like Cities: Skylines II to me!

What goes into making a city sound like a city, and what can a mayor listen to whilst they’re building their city? Sound & Music makes for a wonderful listen! :headphones:

Sounds good. :grinning: And it looks a newer build was used for this one than the previous videos. Tree foliage, reflections, sunlight, police car lights all look tons better.

Seems like quite a few youtubers will be premiering CS2 gameplay on 8 September. These are the ones I’ve seen announcements from. Probably because I’ve watched them in the past.

Ha. Looks like all the Korean channels and streamers all posted their videos at 18:00 local time in Korea, and not at 18:00 UTC+2

Feature Highlight 13: Cinematic Camera & Photo Mode

:camera:Lights, Camera, Action!:video_camera:
Ready to learn how you can capture the best of your city in Cities Skylines II? We have some shiny new camera tools for you!

So now we have to find time to build cities and to make stunning photos and videos?! How?

From the original Dev Diaries Roadmap, this should be the last of the Feature Highlight videos. With five weeks still to go before release we’ll have to wait and see if there’s any more to come from Paradox, or if we need to be satisfied with the content creators releasing their weekly 30 minute build videos.

If I’m reading this correctly, the local (ZAR) price of the game on steam and epic will slightly increase after launch. :frowning:

Yeah, that’s a bit disappointing to hear. Especially when we’re already paying 80% over Valve’s suggested prices for South Africa.

Was actually considering doing the base edition myself, but now I’ll just stick to Game Pass for as long as it’s on there and wait for the inevitable sale sometime next year.

Insert sad faced console player here

Hello City Building Enthusiasts!

We are sharing an update with you on the upcoming launch of Cities: Skylines II.

We are hard at work preparing the game for our release on October 24th. While doing so, we have realized that we need more time to reach the quality targets we have set for Console. As we want to provide the best experience for our players, we are updating the release window for Xbox and PS5 to Spring 2024.

The additional time allows us to focus on matching the quality and performance across all platforms.

We’ll share more updates on the console release window soon.
As work on optimization continues, we’re also updating the minimum and recommended PC specs.
If you have remaining questions, please find our FAQ here.

In the meantime, we are excited to welcome PC players to build their dream cities on October 24.

Happy Building!

Pre-installation is available on Game Pass now. 58.2 GB download. Is really crawling slowly though. Will leave it to run overnight…
