Officially dubbed Comic Con Africa, the announcement was made on via livestream on VS Gaming’s Facebook page. The event will be held on the 14th to 16th September at Kyalami and will feature gaming, esports, cosplay and, naturally comics.
For those concerned about this being another con job (pardon the pun), the event is being managed by ReedPOP, the same events management company that handles New York Comic Con, the PAX shows and a host of other events. So there’s little to fear as far as a low-key event is concerned.
The biggest question of course is whether we’ll have the world class panels that Comic Con are famous for. According to the pre-roll video that played during the livestream, yes, we will have panels. As to who exactly will be on those panels, thats unknown at this time.
if this is for real, and it does sound like it is, although I am not the world’s biggest comic book fan, I’ll absolutely be there. Just to say you’ve been to the first ever Comic Con in Africa.
