Last I heard was 8 so maybe 8:30?

Looks like the stream starts at 19h00

Seems to be 20:30 now?

Yup. The link I posted seems to just be someone whoā€™s going to re-stream the stream realtime to get subscribers or whatnotā€¦

Weird way to get subscribers.

@SIGSTART I hope this is fake.

Looks real to me. Iā€™ve at least heard that the army reserve is being called up until 26 June.

Remember, even if the strict lockdown lifts, it wonā€™t be back to business as usual. At best we can expect the lockdown to be relaxed and not lifted entirely.

Bans on large gatherings will remain in effect. Everyone who can work remotely will probably be asked to continue to work remotely. I wouldnā€™t be surprised if they only allow certain sectors to go back to work on tranches if some kind. Karim wants regular national screening days, at least once a month.

Which is not all that high, all things considering. Iā€™d expect people in the line of fire to have at least a decent remuneration attributed to them, especially military personnel and police- and traffic officers.

Source: Brother-in-law is metro cop and heā€™s severely underpaid for the risks that he faces each day.

DO we have a graph / info like this somewhere?

Weirdly seeing how many are in hospital and in ICU is soothing to my brain, where our stats just makes me nuts.

I am hoping we are kind of following this

That is the NZ levels. They are moving from 4 to 3 next week. And it will be great if we can do that too.

Yes, UPā€™s Computer Science department has a page that shows the ICU stats, but itā€™s not updated regularly because the Minister isnā€™t asked about it regularly.

In other news, thereā€™s a document circulating online with a list of stuff thatā€™s going to stay closed even after the lockdown period is over:

The following restrictions will remain in place after the national lockdown, and regardless of the level of alert at any given time:

  • Sit in restaurants and hotels
  • Bars and shebeens
  • Conference and convention centres
  • Entertainment venues, including cinemas, theatres, and concerts
  • Sporting events
  • Religious, cultural and social gatherings

No gatherings of more than 10 people outside of a workplace will be permitted.

Passengers on all modes of transport must wear a cloth mask to be allowed entry into the vehicle. Hand sanitisers must be made available, and all passengers must sanitise their hands before entering. Public transport vehicles must be sanitised on a daily basis.

NB: I donā€™t know how old this document is, but itā€™s in-line with what weā€™ve been hearing regarding relaxing the lockdown. South Africa (and the world, for that matter) will not be business as usual.

@SIGSTART Baie dankie, that actually helped calm my nerves a hell of a lot. It does something in my brain that switches off the anxiety.

I really hope it is just 8 days left. . . . I honestly am reaching the end of my coping skills.

Rough week, my friend succumbed to the virus. We knew it was over when they told us he was on ventilator.
From showing signs of infection to his passing was 2 weeks I think. He was a recovering cancer patient, and all along he thought the worst life had to offer was over.

Wish I could go out and fight something instead of staying at home.
