Why only in the WC? Because that is the only province they dont have a majority coalition and they are politicizing the situation? I ask as I really dont know…

That is what we suspect, that and here on the news its all about how Cape Town is the hotspot of South Africa. We have also noticed the last few days its all doom and gloom about cape town, but the rest of the country is only featured as stories of people helping and or needing food or money.

I did read that the rest of the country especially Gauteng, is at least 7 days behind in releasing of test results. So that means that the figures showing now, is basically last weeks numbers finally released. . .

The funny thing is, we basically just see the DA and Solidarity on the news here besides when you see madam zol.

The only reason why WC is seen as the “hotspot” is because they are doing proper testing. I don’t think the other provinces are doing nearly the amount of testing that WC is doing, otherwise our daily numbers would be much higher.

My very surreal covid 19 test: my wife has to go for a back operation and the hospital will not let it happen until she has a test done. At the testing centre you drive into the parking lot through a gate, park in a designated spot. A hazmat suited person comes out and swabs you in your car and walks off, you drive out.

You then pay R850 for the privilege.

The UK are going through a similar thing where they just had a massive document released yesterday outlining their emergence from lockdown with silly things like: you can meet a neighbour on the street and not your back garden. Totally arbitrary rules that cannot apply to every situation. Police are told to use “common sense” to decide who to fine and who not to.

The governments of the world are scrabbling like blind mice in a maze with this pandemic.
