You’re all showing your age!
Same, and I just went and scheduled a booking at one of their centeres. Only then did I get a confirmation.
Can the capies let me know where they got their shots in our age bracket please
momentum’s website only let 50 and up get their shots at parc du cap
Discovery showed me three different venues to book at, I booked at Virgin Active N1 City. The other two I think were CPT CBD and Sea Point.
Not sure if this helps.
Disco’s system only seems to have sites in GP and Cape Town…
Dischem has a similar system running for GP, Westen Cape, KZN, Free State, and EC.
MP getting no love…
The wife and I got our shots. Did the walk-in thing. I went to clicks, she went to the dischem place.
I saw your post, checked the Clicks website, and lo and behold, our local Clicks is listed. Jumped in the car, sped off, and it turns out someone at Clicks HQ has their head up their arse. Local guys don’t have any vaccines xD
That sucks. Isn’t there another clicks pharmacy near to you that you can phone and just double check? There are 3 listed on the government site here but we know of at least 6 that do the shots, and that’s only the clicks. If you do go to clicks try do the walk in early as ours said they only do 6 walk-ins a day, well, they’re ‘supposed to’ only do 6 but if their bookings people don’t pitch then they don’t mind more.
That’s good advice, thanks! Unfortunately I’m stuck in meetings all day, so I won’t be able to head out until after 4. I’ll phone today and try to get out bright and early tomorrow morning. This town sleeps in, so I’ll get the jump on them!
I see a couple of people just got their shots by walking into vaccination places. So my wife is going shopping later and will have a look. If there’s not a lot of people then I’ll quickly drive there and hopefully get the vaccination.
If I don’t get better Rain reception after that then I just don’t know.
Got a hold of the other Clicks in Witbank, they’ve got the vax. I’m going there after work to try my luck.
The worst they can do is say no. I got it at clicks, my wife went to the same clicks after me and they said they couldn’t help any more people for the day, but she would be first in line the next day. She went to dischem in any case after that and got it so there was no need to go back to clicks.
At the Clicks now. The queue is about 30 to 40 people deep, but it has an Avatar at the back end now. I might miss my 13:30 meeting, but I think I’ll claim poor connectivity.
I registered on Wednesday evening when we discovered that the site was open to 35+. Yesterday afternoon we (myself and @SIGSTART) took our registration smses (no appointment) and went to the Momentum Building in Doringkloof, Centurion. It is a public centre that does walk-ins. We took his mom along as well.
The experience was excellent. She cannot stand for long so they fast-tracked her through all the queues. The registration process is amazing, they have Lenovo tablets with databases connections. They look you up and confirm a few details and voila. I was sent with her in case she needed assistance, so we hopped almost to the front and only waited about 5 minutes before she got her jab from a wonderful nurse, and I got mine as well since I was already there. We went to the 15-minute observation room and got our stickers and our timer.
Everything was so organized and efficient. Everyone was so competent and friendly. Poor @SIGSTART had to wait in the normal queues like a pleb after the initial registration tables, but 20 minutes after we got our jabs, he got his. We sat together and waited with him for his 15 minutes. We were there for an hour total.
I’m so excited to have gotten my first Pfizer-BioNTech jab because I honestly didn’t think this would happen until about October. I’m so impressed by the public Doringkloof vax site. My parents also got their vax done there, which is how we knew they took walk-ins.
My arm started aching really badly late last night (about 10 hours after the shot) and hurt so much that I couldn’t sleep on my left side at all. It still aches now, but mostly only when I move it or do something that flexes the muscles of my upper arm.
No need to lie! @SIGSTART was in the middle of a radio interview when he got called into the cubicle to get his shot and he just stopped mid-sentence and told the DJ “they’re calling me for my shot! I gotta go!” (but more diplomatically than that) and the DJ just rolled with it. I had two colleagues for a charity organization I work with both get called up for their shots (one in the UK, one in Dubai) 30 minutes before a global team meeting with our executives. I just told the team “sorry they’re not here even though they RSVP’d positively, they had an opportunity to go get vaxxed and I told them to take it” and the entire management were in favour of it, they thought it was awesome.
Luckily all my KPI’s for the meeting are green this month, so odds are no one will even notice, plus I have a colleague (that got her shot this morning) is covering for me. I don’t really think anyone would give me grief for missing that meeting for the vax, but my 14:30 meeting I absolutely need to attend… I don’t think I’m going to get done today.
Can’t you attend on your phone? Just plug in headphones and say "here I am! But I am standing in a vax queue so this is as good as it gets from my side. "
I’m glad you guys had a good experience with it all.
Wow 30 to 40 deep! I think word is getting around about the walk-ins.
