Coronavirus - COVID-19

Youtube is suspending either channels or taking down videos of anyone that speaks of Covid, so it’s not necessarily that it was false news, but more about the fact that they are talking about Covid.

The only thing they are allowing is that you can say you have Covid and that is as far as you can go.

My 2c: I consider someone an “anti-vaxxer” when they refuse to take the vaccine and then do what these people do:

@jaydogg86 as much as I think everyone has a responsibility to take the vaccine for the common good, I also respect everyone’s choice in the matter. And for the record, you dont fall into the loony category :joy:

I love how he starts of with intelligence and critical thinking and then jumps straight to Saturn and red coats.
These are the kind of nut-jobs that the term “anti-vaxxer” was invented for.

I tried to roar like a lion but Uranus has drained my life force as it did when Van Riebeck first brought 5G into the country. I shall now pass wind to the tune of Redemption Song. Heil Faucci!

A genuine question here driven by my own interest and curiousness.

If COVID is such pandemic and threat then why don’t we see a significant increase in the death rate?

This is why

Edit: the ZA stats are actually decent.

Where are those stats from? I’m trying to understand what they show.

I’d guess our death rate is slowing because of the advances in medical care and that humans are living longer than ever before in our short history. I have no idea what impact the covid deaths would have on those stats.

The SA Stats @Avatar linked are pretty bleak…

Oh gawsh, I didn’t even notice that. I’m sorry!

I only recognised it since a (senior, in authority not age) colleague tried to use the same site as conspiracy theory evidence that there is no pandemic l. #mysmugnesscouldbeseenfromspace

Oh that was not my intention at all. It out of genuine interest.

Don’t worry, it read as interest :+1

Sigh, just debunked yet another long misinformation article in my family whatsapp group. Some insane drivel about changing your body’s PH level with acidic foods to kill the virus as well as some other crap about steaming your nose and mouth twice a day to kill the virus.

People are just plain stupid, no getting around that.

People just don’t understand how viruses work. You have to drink Jeysfluid!

Oh ya, I had a ‘discussion’ about this one too. They tried convincing me that pineapple is very alkaline.

If that was true, my jalapeno/pineapple sauces wouldn’t last more than a couple days…

I was going through some old bookmarks, and came across a link to a dead domain. Something about Jupiter/Saturn/Pluto conjunctions and the great societal reset. I think that is what the crazy Colbert was reporting on was going on about…

I posted proof of this in the space thread last year!

Oh wait… No. What’s the other thing…

My favourite part of that viral message (hehehe) is that it claims the pH level of several foods:
◉ Bananas, Lime → 9.9 pH
◉ Yellow lemon → 8.2 pH
◉ Avocado - pH 15.6
◉ Garlic - pH 13.2
◉ Mango - pH 8.7
◉ Mandarin - pH 8.5
◉ Pineapple - 12.7 pH
◉ Watercress - 22.7 pH
◉ Oranges - 9.2 pH

A) Really inaccurate,
B) In high school science (or was it primary school?) we were taught that the pH scale only goes to 14… Avo can’t be 15.6 and watercress can’t be 22.7…

And to think, I bought a container of citric acid recently… What a scam! It should obviously be labelled citric alkaline.

Ahahah yes, I told my family that JIK (household bleach) has a PH of close 13. You can drink that to kill the virus since you probably will be dead too, the virus does not live long in a corpse.
